No worries about the 2-week rule. While I tend to agree that those who don’t want to be spoiled, should come here... It would be good to adhere to the rules as it would be fair to those who are curious about the movie but don’t want to know specific details. I don’t mind a discussion as long as it doesn’t degenerate into...you know what I mean. I got to make this quick as it’s the weekend in my country so it’s “family day”. With Strange, it’s like there were a couple of instances when he could end the Thanos’ threat. The way Thanos fought and think (in the MCU), Strange could simply have used a portal to behead him in the previous movie. Quick and simple. And what about handing over the time gem to Thanos? Can anyone here figure it out? With regards to Carol...did I mention her? I honestly can’t recall?! LOL! Spoiler All I did mention was that she alone could have helped Spidey. Here’s my impression: to some she’s a very contentious character but not due to character design but the way, she’s forced on. Historically (in terms of comics and movies), such as Wonder Woman but it’s interesting to note that the latter does not induce “venom” as much Denvers. Fun fact, her comic has been rebooted 8-9 times. The strange thing is no one knows why Marvel keep pushing her (when they cancel others) when despite the sales. Of course, I can’t speak for now as I’m out Marvel comics for years. With regards to Hulk and Thor...let’s go to the next post. Let’s hope so man! f I remembered correctly, there was much clamour for a solo Hulk movie (after the first Avengers movie) but unfortunately, the movie rights were held by Universal(?). Spoiler So in a bid to make Rufflo er, satisfied and to make Hulk fans happy they decided to have the Hulk/Banner character have a “complete arc” of sorts in this Infinity War storyline and there were mutters that Mark isn’t coming back. So if Mark is going to continue reprising his role...that would explain things. As for Thor...Chris didn’t want to continue but after the “fun” he had with Ragnarok and a revamp in Thor’s character, he changed his mind? IMO while Thor is a “fun” character now, there a general feeling that it’s a character regression just to keep the actor on board and continue “milking” money.
Spoiler: Spoiler I liked that Cap's "ending" gives Disney an easy out if they can throw enough money at Chris Evans for him to return. And if not, they can still de-age him and have a new actor take up the role. More I think about it though. Endgame really is an end cause I find myself just not caring what happens after this. I'm curious for Guardians, but that's about it. Kudos to you guys that go watch these multiple times. I just can't (nor do I wish) to be able to sit through more than one viewing anymore... Getting old sucks.
yknow, i would have expected someone made a flowchart by now so people will stop saying they don't understand the plot Spoiler well, the timeline more than the plot that is.
To be fair, it's probably one of the more convoluted super-hero plots put out there. Their plans made less sense than Thanos' snap plan.
It just takes me a while to get things. Hopefully my 2nd viewing might clear things up. Apologies if I upset anyone for being confused
My thoughts on the movie. Spoiler I feel IW was the better movie. IW had more intense moments and satisfying battles. The big fight in the end was awesome but somethings there were a miss. The Black Order was a threat in IW but here they felt like an afterthought. Hell, Corvus Glaive was one shotted by Okoye with her spear from what I saw. The female team up was fan service for the female fans but felt so force. I was recalling that story where the actresses came to Kevin Feige's office and wanted an all-female team up movie to which Feige agreed to. Feige probably meant yeah you'll have a team up scene in Endgame. I liked that they showed Thanos was still capable of a threat even when facing Carol without her getting nerfed. I honestly thought she was gonna get nerfed by the gauntlet. For getting the soul stone, BW sacrificing herself wasn't as impactful as Gamora dying. I think it's because of that one upping between her and Hawkeye just killed the moment. Professor Hulk was interesting for that one moment he used the gauntlet. That was it. I think the movie could have done without Rocket, War Machine, and Hawkeye either. They didn't really have any great moments for me. They could have been snapped away in IW. I can understand, plot wise, fat Thor's importance. If we was in top shape, he would have taken care of Thanos immediately when he got there. I mean, he almost killed Thanos with a full powered gauntlet in IW. Carol was just gone for the most part because she's just out there somewhere. Lazy writing if you ask me. She wasn't present in IW because... she was getting golden shoulder pads. She was mostly absent in Endgame because... she was getting a new haircut. I don't know. In IW, everybody got a chance to really shine. Here not so much even for some of the original Avengers. Sigh... it's just that I came in with such high expectations and I left feeling it was just an ok movie. I actually liked some of the fake spoilers better and feel it could have made some scenes better.
Spoiler Honestly even if Marvel did intentionally break their own rules to give Cap that ending, I’m okay with it. After all he has been through, he deserved to be happy and live his life. Just like Tony said in AOU: “Isn’t that the mission? Isn’t that the why we fight, so we can end the fight, so we get to go home?” We’ll, Steve went home Spoiler Honestly as much as I’ll miss Chris Evans, I hope they don’t do that. Steve Rogers’ story needs to conclude. It’s time for Falcon to take the mantle. But we’ll see! I’m sure it’ll be created soon enough. Then we can rest and watch the sun rise on a grateful universe
Spoiler Yeah, Steve has been through a ton. I had a discussion/analysis on the personality of Steve recently and it seems like I was mistaken. Steve's fear in Age of Ultron wasn't that he was too scarred to ever settle down in a more simple life, but rather that he couldn't do it without Peggy. Now that he saw he had the opportunity to have his happy ending, he took it. There were motifs in the movie talking about Steve needing to find peace: "Some people move on, but not us" "I think you and me should get a life" I'm somewhat glad he got a happy ending, but I feel like it was forced. Almost like they originally planned to kill him off, but decided against it last minute in order to not traumatize fans too much. But this ending is pleasant for a character who's been through so much. And now, like Tony, he can finally rest.
New Zealand accent made it into this movie. Gave me a good belly laugh. Shout out to the members across the ditch! Spoiler An opinion I find quite disconcerting is the justification of Black Widow's death over Hawkeye... because he has a family & she don't.
Spoiler So how long do you think until they release a wearable Stark Gauntlet like they did with the Infinity Gauntlet last year?
Spoiler I think you'll find that would have been Natasha's own justification. What they do will bring the Barton family back, leaving it shattered without Clint was never happening on her watch. I guess doing this is Natasha's way of finally squaring her ledger
Soooo... Spoiler They are making a kids one! Also i gotta say that i loved most of the movie but the two main complaints i had were Fat Thor and the Cap ending. I could have handled the cap going back in time and staying there IF he had taken Bucky with him to live out his days with his best friend. The fact that he just leaves Bucky there after he was the main catalyst for so much of Caps journey just felt like a let down. Fat thor was just too much of a joke for me. I would have loved if he had become more of a hermit rather than just a fat slob. Almost like old man Conan imagery, where he secluded himself and rejuvinates his asgardian roots. Maybe even connecting with the allfathers for guidance and going a little crazy. But eh, fat thor was just so cringey in all the scenes he was in. I dunno maybe with more viewings it might grow on me, or if they do something cool with him in guardians. But while these two points are definitely the worst parts, the rest of the movie outshines them ten fold. This was a mastework in crafting and planning on a gigantic scale and its crazy that it all worked. Ill probably hold off on seeing marvel movies for a few years to give myself a break unless trailers really impress me. But this was an amazing ending and im so satisfied with it that i dont really need anything else. 8.5/10 for me.
y'all should have some familiarity with this game. my friends kept asking me what happens and I resorted to this Spoiler: two lies and a truth Hulk dabs Rocket gets a Stark iron suit Thor plays Fortnite Clearly I'm bad at this game.
So..... Spoiler if my wife and kids got snapped, and in the ensuing 5 years i met someone else and had kids with her, then all of a sudden my original wife and kids are back... jeez, thats a fucked up ending for a lot of people.
