Saw Reaper and Sombra at EB Games but I'm not interested in them. I want the Soldier/Ana 2-pack and Rein the most but also tempted with Lucio.
Amazon tried to steal from me (by letting a professional Amazon fraudster in Jacksonville FL steal from me), routinely ships items in oversized boxes with no padding, comingles knockoffs into their stock, and lies about shipping out of stock items advertised as in stock. My desire for cheaper toys does not override my dislike of how they operate. These just got caught in that weird limbo where I don't like them enough to search retail or buy from a specialty shop. If I run into some at Target I'll consider it. This sounds like my favorite line from an RPG I used to play. "After we burned down your house, you attacked us for no reason!" Hasbro causes distribution issues with unfavorable case packs and then they double down by fucking specialty shops with delayed shipments. You should understand that, as an arm of Hasbro, more of the money goes to Hasbro when you buy from Pulse. Hardly meaningless. Just requires you to think a little.
"Unfavourable case packs" is pure guess work. ML Misty Knight still manages to warm shelves despite being only one to a case, because she's a relatively obscure character. Yet, the alternative is to not have her in the first place, and the fans of the character out there are left high and dry instead. There's no "Goldilocks" solution here that works for everybody. And of course it's going to be the specialty shops that get hit hardest if there's stock shortages or whatever. They're not the ones with million-dollar contracts to Hasbro. They can put up with a little guff from the local comic shops or whatever. They're not going to like it if Wal-Mart's CEOs start calling and threatening contracts because they couldn't deliver enough of the hot holiday toy or whatever. Your "thinking" just causes trouble for you, and you alone. Hasbro doesn't give a flip about the $5 you didn't pay them, or whatever the differential is. Yes, it's your money, and your prerogative to do whatever you like with it, but your "strategies" often result in you overpaying for product that you don't have to, in a silent protest that absolutely nobody cares about. You have fun with that. You can't complain about your retail options when the only one inconveniencing you is yourself.
Maybe swing it back on track guys. I have the Mercy/Pharah pack arriving from Amazon today. I don't even play the game, but my girlfriend does and I really like the designs. If these are nice, I'll probably get Tracer, the Ana/Soldier 76 pack and Reinhardt. Really hoping wave 2 has Moira, D.Va and and the upgraded Reaper.
I think that's what gets everyone. Regardless of whether you play the game or not, Blizzard cooked themselves up a roster of very attractive and iconic characters.
Or do. Y'know, for reasons. Your call . I think there might be something to be said for the fact the game has actually quite a large percentage of 50+ year-old characters, and the fanbase has taken to them just as much as the more standard gaming archetypes.
Very true. I was actually surprised when I found out the voice for Moira is the woman who played Mon Mothma in Star Wars.
Man I’d love if we could get a Blackwatch or Scientist Moira out of this. Not a huge fan of her regular designs but those two skins are excellent. Plus with us already getting a Blackwatch Reaper there would be precedent for the alternate skin.
Yeah, that would be a nice thing as well. My gf's trying to unlock that skin in the game, so a figure would be cool. Blackwatch Widowmaker would also be pretty sweet.
Got Reinhardt yesterday and completed wave 1! Rein and Lucio are easily my favorites and I can't wait to see more characters and skins!
No Pharah? Opened the Mercy/Pherah two-pack. Pharah is decent, though this one has a really loose bicep swivel. The arm articulation isn't that good, but there is a good bit of armor there. Mercy is awesome. It's such a characterful figure. I do wish the box came with two flight stands, though.
Sombra arrived today and I am again very happy. I was a little worried because her face looked a little derpy in photos, but in person she looks great. I’m having no problems with the effect part staying up. The jacket does limit her articulation, but I love that these figures don’t have the Marvel Legends butt that screws up all the hip articulation on female characters in that line. I had the same problem with my Pharah. A little bit of floor polish drizzled into the joint really helped tighten it up.
Lol she's off to the side. Also gotta say, I'm severely disappointed in Ana and Reyes. Might try n sell them at some point once their classic skins are revealed. Both have trouble holding guns and Reyes is loose all over. Also doesn't look good in any pose and neither does Ana honestly. Everyone else though is a lotta fun and at the very least looks great.
Bah, I need Blackwatch Reyes. I do NOT need another line to collect. But goddamnit if Overwatch doesn't have designs that just BEG to be made into action figures.
Got Sombra in from Amazon and she’s pretty fantastic. My absolute favorite from Overwatch and they made her in wave 1, so I’m pretty thrilled. Her outfit does limit possibility somewhat but nothing too drastic. For sure going to pick up Pharah/Mercy as soon as I find them on shelves.
Saw most of them in Walmart today, but ultimately passed on them. I want to either play the game first, or see them release Genji, Ashe, or Mcree.
Broke down and picked up Tracer at Target. Man is she a fun figure. Definitely going to pick up the Parah and Mercy 2 pack and Reinhardt when either Target or Wal-Mart get them in. Can't say I'm interested in anyone else in the first wave... if Reaper was in the same outfit as his Figma (which I'm sure Hasbro will eventually get to) I'd pick him up.
I went looking for the Mercy / Pharah pack before seeing Endgame this morning. Didn't find them, so I ordered it from Amazon with same-day shipping. Sometime after the movie, I checked the status of my order & it's been changed to sometime tomorrow before 9pm. Two cock-ups in the same week from them (this is also the 2nd time a same-day shipment fell through this year,) and I'm going to start re-evaluating my need for Prime membership. Anyway, I bought Tracer this afternoon at Target & she's really cool. I really wish Overwatch had a campaign mode, but yeah they've always marketed it as multiplayer. I've wanted to try it from time to time, but I really don't want to jump into something like that when I can't practice first.
Target finally got these guys in stock, so I added Lucio to the collection. He turned out really cool and I'm amazed at how well he stands without the effect parts, given he's balancing on four thin blades of plastic.
