If and when they do an Inferno MP, they would have to re-issue MP 43 Megs. It would be the "Yes, my Queen" edition. :D

Either the Jp supervisor is dumb or the Vietnamese workers don't care (unless of course he's made in China)

If you understand what QC actually is, then it'd be more surprising if it was 100% consistent.

QC checks don't prevent flawed items from leaving the factory. They make sure the production lines are running smoothly to minimize the odds of flawed items leaving the factory.

It's impossible to inspect 100,000 (a number pulled completely out of my butt. I have no idea what standard production numbers for Masterpiece Transformers look like) items from top to bottom and all their intricacies in a timely and cost-efficient manner, and put them through stress tests and the like. That's what the earlier test-shots are for. QC checks are performed via sampling, maybe at intervals, or maybe entirely at random. If the samples are coming off the line up to snuff at a regular rate, then things are good. If you're regularly sampling duds, then something's gone wrong with the production line. If a few dud items slip through those tests, that's just acceptable losses.

It's always assumed that subsequent rereleases will have fixes but it's not always the case. It wouldn't hurt and it would give you the opportunity to score a preorder at a Japanese etailer with the usual preorder discounts.

In any case the crotch cracks seem to come from over tightening the screws a small opposed to a design error. In addition, seems like the breaks either happened at the factory level prior to packing the units or as a result of said over tightening.

The majority of owners here do not have catastrophic breakages. So it's really up to you. Is it a risk? Yes, just not as risky as it's been made out to be.

The reissue wouldn't have fixes. All the issues reported are down to missasembly at the factory.

A new run might fix up the loose waist issue, but yeah, the major breakage scare point seems to be a misassembly issue. I guess that problem could be solved if they redesigned that assembly to be a bit more foolproof.

Primal had no QC issues. Some were disappointed with how much his shoulder and bicep are covered in beast mode. Apparently it sits more flush on the reissue.

Primal had improved moulding to his shoulder so the shoulder pads properly cover his upper arms in beast mode. He and Cheetor also appear to have much tighter joints. I rather hoped he (and Cheetor) would also have a more durable paint job but sadly that doesn't appear to be the case.

So, the reissues have the same paint chipping problem as the originals? I've opened mine, but I'm afraid to touch them (don't want them to become like my play copies...).

Paranoid people are, at any rate. There's no proof that it solves anything, though. I haven't touched mine, transformed him quite a few times, and nothing's broken yet.

Based purely on @Jarrod's findings, with no follow-up investigations, then the over-tightened screws are only part of the cause of the breakage. The true culprit was a misaligned ratchet pawl, with the tight screws breaking the pelvis as a side effect of the misassembled part. The screws shouldn't cause any damage by themselves.

I agree. With the amount of times I've flipped him back and forth, so far so good. Not like Dinobot's shoulders

I don't know for sure, I guess time will tell, but there's bo obvious difference between the original and reissue paint job. I'm also afraid to touch or transform mine lol!

Any update on the third party crotch replacement someone was designing?

I'd really like some quality replacement parts for both eh crotch and hip joints, in case the cracks on my figure's crotch worsen

Are they cracks, or just swirl marks? Nobody's reported the swirl marks getting worse.

If it's broken, it's broken, and the break makes itself known pretty much immediately, in the cases evidenced thus far.

Transformed mine again today for a total of 20 back and forth transformations. Still holding up 100% with no additional stress marks, no cracking crotches and no paint chips. The ONLY paint chipping that has occurred is on the bottom of his toes from sliding him across the table multiple times.

Anyone else have a detent that doesn't really work on the left leg? Not the ratchet but for the shin.
