Yeah, Meg was one of the tallest, definitely strongest decepticon from S1-2. Dont remember if the triple changers were same size or whatnot, but probably not many were taller anyways.

I like the scale of the XTB limbs because i can have them in the front as carbot size, and then have my tall Megatron / Soundblaster / etc.. in the back, and the ones in the back wont be too hidden. That said, i like the look of the bot mode, and the facial expressions of the FT better. So if XTB could make some alternate facial expressions, that would be awesome.

I have no idea what the height of Gravestone will be, is this known? If not, maybe ibot or the designer 598 can shim in. I suspect it wont be too different than the FT version. I think either should work for me, they will both be tall enough.

The price of the XTB is unknown though, so it may potentially only be 10 - 30 $ different, i guess.

I personally dont mind the leader of the S1-2 combiner (combaticons and stunticons to be more precise) being taller than Megatron, especially for a decepticon only shelf. The constructicons were all same size though.

 

I just got flipout today - he may have the nicest paintjob of any car bot I own. And the transformation is so smooth compared to the last one, he's just gorgeous all around. That shiny red paint in bot mode is killer. For the $50 I paid he's worth every cent.

Now I'm wondering if I can hold out for sales on the remaining ones...it's been a year since I got the first one FFS.

I agree that would be nice but I find it unlikely. Even Zeta has admitted that they're going to have to charge more for their combiner members on the next one they do and they're the only ones (so far) to charge that low for a combiner core member + combiner body. Besides, Menasor is going to have a lot more fake parts than either of the Zeta combiners - pretty much the entire combiner is fake. You can want to not pay more, but, if I were you, I'd prepare myself for it to cost more.

 

I'm glad finally someone understand my point. I don't either actually per se it just a small nit pick because I could remember watching and the Cons at least being as big. This guy harping about Skyfire like a broken record is just unnecessary. I get it. He was bigger than Megatron for his glorious one off appearance as a Con, cool. I think I with stay with the set strictly for G2 purposes because they are beautiful. I don't know if I want to go down the rabbit hole with FT and RK for Menasor, he looks amazing though.

 

But you see, you made a minor incorrect logical leap so that's all it takes to completely crush you even though it has nothing to do with your actual point.

I actually find that really frustrating. It's like, "let me just go over everything I've just written with a fine toothed comb to make sure there's not some minor quibble that anyone can get hung up on and use it to completely disregard what I'm saying." Your point was that Motormaster should be as tall as Megatron and no taller because that's the size he was in the cartoon and comic, but because you said "any Decepticon" it didn't matter that your point about Motormaster was correct - if even one Decepticon doesn't meet the statement you made (surprised nobody threw out Trypticon) then everything you said is now completely invalid.

 

I just checked page 1 of this thread and after 2 years, TWO YEARS since the announcement of this set, they've released 2 figures and 2 repaints. At this rate, FansToys might be able to beat them with a full set if FansToys pushed as fast as they did with Roadking, lol.

 

The car modes look so good, I may not transform them at all until I have all five in hand.

 

Could happen. Might not, though. It seems FT's plan is to stagger Stunticon releases with Aerialbots, so that may mean it'll take longer than you think. I could be wrong, though, and FT could come at the combiner scene hard.

 

I would think it's safe to assume especially with the recent videos we have, that we're going to get the other two stunticons releases this year so that would be six figures in 2 years, its not to bad.

 

Yeah I can see all the wheels turning. If there is some scraping, I think I can get over it as long as they all turn.

I read the comments about Megs but how do you feel about the scale with Optimus Prime? It looks like he will be slightly taller.

 

Pretty sure he was joking. Making fun of XTB's snail pace on this set rather than seriously suggesting FT is going to overtake them.

Imho, letting FT get to Motormaster before them was a mistake on XT's part, even with two bots out and two more dropping any day now. Should've saved the G2 versions until they had a full set of G1 out.

 

Getting the G2 set out likely had minimal impact on releasing the next two bots. Developing new paint masks is far less cumbersome than developing entirely new toys.

 

You mean they'd still have been this slow if they hadn't done the G2 ones?   Don't get me wrong - I'm excited for the next two - but damn, it's been a long time since Flipout came out.

Abaddon is scrapped. There is no other reasonable outcome. The only way we may see him, is a future redesign from scratch. And frankly I am glad more than I am sad regarding this. There was no way XTBs at that stage could produce a figure to compete with Sovereign. Now ofc is another matter entirely.

Skyfire was not a Decepticon prior to the last Cybertronian war. Skyfire didnt even knew what an Autobot or a Decepticon is....

 

If XTB makes more triple changers I really hope they make them at least half a head taller than mp36. FTs Astrotrain looks almost perfect, bar minor gripes, but they dropped the ball (IMHO) on his height.

 

If the next two bots aren’t ready to be manufactured that is an open production slot so running G2 repairs doesn’t delay the next two bots at all. That’s the point, the next two bots weren’t likely ready for production since it takes far more resources and time to design and mold a figure, so the idea that running repaints in a likely open production slot delayed the arm bots is silly.
