Do the chests reset everytime you go to the krypt? If not, your chances increase with every chest then.
Really loving Cassie Cage, Kollector and Cetrion thus far. Shao Kahn and Raiden also looking good. Gonna practice towers, then go kick Story mode's butt and check out the Krypt.
Mortal Kombat 11 Is Already $10 Cheaper And It Released Yesterday - GameSpot I can confirm this. Amazon has reduced the price from £49.99 to £43.99.
Spoiler Well Raiden did say to Kang something along the lines of "See you in the next timeline". Hopefully, that's an implication certain details will remain consistent even if MK12 will be another reboot. Whatever the case, I hope Mileena is in MK12.
Nope, but you can spend currency to reset them (of course). Even so, there’s like a 1000 chests. You would need millions of Koins to open the basic ones. Then there’s chest that require soul Koins which take forever to get. And then there’s chests that require 250 hearts. You get one heart for each fatality you do, so calculate how much that would take to open the dozens of those scattered around.
Over $6000 worth of skins, or spend over 3000 hours grinding for enough time crystals to buy them all. Purchasing All Mortal Kombat 11 Skins Will Cost You $6440
So as someone who hasn't played an MK game since 4 but has kind of kept up on the series, would this be overwhelming?
If you -really- want to follow along, either go get a cheap copy of 9 and X.. Or just watch the cutscenes on youtube. Otherwise, not really.
So, just beat the story mode for this today... Spoiler Another fucking reboot? Am I the only person disappointed by this?
I watched the story online (I'm still deciding which platform and if I have the skills to be good at the game), and while I get why people would not like it, I'm up for it. It might bring something different or something new. Plus: Spoiler It doesn't necessarily have to be a hard reboot. Possibly a soft one. We'll have to see if they do a sequel. The reason why I don't mind this ending is that 2011 ended on a very dark, but interesting note. Similar scenario for X. With 11, our heroes, depending on the ending choosen finally get the chance to make a better reality, although evil will return again, in one way or another, and it might be a new threat even.
I played for awhile last night, I'm sure this is old hat to most everyone else but having them fight and violently skewer each other through the eyes, heads, chests, and abdomens 20 times and then just get up like nothing happened to do it all again kinda made me a little disinterested in playing anymore just from the silliness of it all. As you can guess, I haven't played MK in some time.
Yeah, I got that from just watching the trailers. The violence is just too over the top. It's fine for the fatalities, but it's like every neck-slicing, chest-pounding combo is a mini-fatality. I watched a trailer highlighting Kung Lao and when he got his opponent's energy all the way down, he began some kind of super combo with cut-away scenes that I thought was the fatality, only for the narrator to then say, "FINISH HIM!" LOL! I thought he was already finished.
It's been like that ever since they introduced the x-ray attacks. None of which any character should be able to realistically walk away from just like a Fatality. That said; this is MK and it's also been damned silly in some aspects for awhile now too.
Yeah, and most of the fatal blows and brutalities are more impressive/imaginative than the actual fatalities, unfortunately. There’s only a handful of fatalities that I would say are pretty badass. The rest are just gore for gore’s sake.
I've gone ahead and started making a list of characters I think may or may not returning in MK 12. Do not read said list unless you've completed this game's story. Here's what I've got so far: Spoiler POSSIBLY RETURNING Liu Kang - Of course he's coming back. He's a series veteran, a popular character, the architect of the new timeline, and the new Protector of Earthrealm. Kitana - In the best ending, which I'm fairly certain is the canon one, she is selected by Liu Kang to both keep him company and aid him in sculpting the new history. I'm not expecting her to be quite as prominent, though. Someone needs to guard the Hourglass while her boyfriend is off defending Earthrealm from whatever new threats end up emerging. Kung Lao - Surely, Liu Kang wouldn't allow his good friend and fellow Earthrealm defender to be erased from existence. As the new Keeper of Time, Liu has the power to ensure that a version of Lao appears in the new timeline, even if it's not the same Lao he used to know. Plus, much like Liu and Kitana, he's a series veteran, and I'm sure he's at least semi-popular. Maybe not as popular as they are, but popular nonetheless. Said popularity could be what saves him. Jade - As surely as Liu Kang wouldn't allow his friend to cease to exist, Kitana wouldn't allow hers to share that fate. Even if it's not the same Jade she used to know, a version of her will exist in the new timeline. Kotal Kahn - He's the love interest of Kitana's best friend. I wouldn't be surprised if she allows him to exist in the new timeline just for Jade's sake. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing more focus on this relationship, provided that it also gets more development this time around. It pretty much came out of nowhere in MK 11, as Jade never so much as mentioned Kotal in any of the previous games, nor did he mention her at all in MK X. If they do become lovers in this timeline, we need to see how they meet, why they end up falling for each other, and what they do together during moments of peace. Sindel - In addition to being a veteran, she's Kitana's mom. Kitana won't allow her mom to be wiped from existence. Plus, as I'll get into soon enough, I doubt Shao Kahn would exist in this new timeline, which means Sindel's prior husband, King Jerrod, might have been spared, and I, for one, would very much like to see their relationship get explored, as well as the relationship Jerrod would've had with their daughter had he been around to watch her grow up. Scorpion - Series veteran, well-developed, insanely popular, Ed Boon's favorite, one of the poster boys of the franchise. Come on, we all know he's coming back. He may not be the same, unfortunately, but he will be back. Sub-Zero - Same deal as Scorpion, minus being Boon's fave. UNLIKELY TO RETURN Raiden - Sorry, guys, but unless the timeline gets rebooted yet again, I don't see Raiden popping up again any time soon. He may be a popular veteran, but even that won't be enough to save him. Due to the loss of his immortality, he will no doubt be long gone by the events of MK 12. Plus, bringing him back in almost any capacity would defeat the purpose of his sacrifice. What's the point of passing the torch to Liu Kang if you're going to bring Raiden back in the very next installment just for the sake of fan service? Shao Kahn - Him being a major villain in prior installments is precisely why he may not return. After all the pain, misery, destruction, and death that monster caused in previous timelines, there's no way Liu and Kitana would allow him to be born again. His absence could also potentially bring something new to the table. Not just a new villain, but perhaps a new hero, as well. If Shao Kahn was never born, King Jerrod might still be alive (assuming no one else tried to murder him). I know this sounds unlikely, but what if Jerrod was allowed to play a major role in the story? What if we were finally allowed to not only get to know him (what sort of ruler he was, how he treated his subjects, how he treated his family, what his fighting abilities were, etc.), but even see him fight alongside his wife and daughter, as well? What if they even go so far as to make him playable? Again, it sounds unlikely, but wouldn't it be nice if that did happen? Mileena - Kitana's evil clone/sister seems to be well-liked among fans from what I've seen, but without Shao Kahn, I don't see how she could possibly exist in the new timeline. He was the one who ordered Shang Tsung to create her, after all. No Shao, no Mileena. Ermac - Created by Shao Kahn himself. No Shao, no Ermac. Cassie Cage - I'm not going to lie, Cassie Cage is one of my personal favorites, but unfortunately, I seem to be in the minority. Her unpopularity, as well as the fact that she didn't even exist in the "original" timeline, are reason enough to leave her out of the new timeline entirely. D'Vorah - Like Cassie, D'Vorah is not exactly a beloved character. In fact, from what I've seen, she seems to be one of the most despised characters in the entire franchise, and I can certainly see why. She's creepy, disgusting, and killed three popular veterans over the course of two games. Even if she does show up in the new timeline, it will only be so the writers can kill her off in order to please the fans. How about the rest of you? Which characters do you think will or will not return, and why do you think so?
