handled him , I agree. Best FT figure should be Stomp. Simple , elegant , has all the best of Fanstoys.

 

Amazing that you and I are actually syncing up right now. I also prefer him without the silver. That was the rule when Hasui was doing the MP line, error on the side of toon. It's better to never go full toon, but for details you do want to reference the toon more than any other material.

My favorite is Phoenix and followed by stomp, and while this looks good, it comes not even close to them

 

Hydra is a pretty strong candidate.

 

I mean, you're allowed to like it, but objectively it's still made from a brittle plastic that's prone to cracking and almost no paint. Scoria, Soar, Sever, and Quakewave came before Tesla and weren't made out of that garbage plastic, either, so I'm not buying the ”it was an early figure" excuse for it.

 

That detail was maybe making the torso look smaller than it actually is, so in theory you were right. It is left to see if the transformation is on point (I'm truly not expecting miracles) but this just looks too good.

That Headsculpt, damn it.

 

This may sound crazy to some but I really did Apache. Even the transformation.

 

Subjectively, Phoenix is probably my favorite because of my fondness for the character. Objectively, I think Stomp is the better toy. I would have given it to Phoenix if he had more of a finish and less screw holes.

If FT can hit those highs with their combiners...man, that would be something. Something painful for my wallet.

 

Honestly the backpack is incredibly fine to me

It's strange, you know, I didn't even notice the silver outlining was missing because I was drooling over the figure. But now that I've seen it I'm torn, don't get me wrong he still looks amazing so no problem there but on the other hand this is one thing that irks me about third parties, all of them, and this is why TT is still above them, their incompetence? How the hell do you miss a detail like that, sure we're the customers but they are the designers, this is something you would expect them to nail because you would have thought they would have watched every G1 episode with this character like 200 times over so mistakes like this won't happen because it is silver in most screenshots. In their defense however the silver was clearly more subdued in their recent shots. But yeah whatevs. Looks epic, waiting for video reviews!
