I've been playing around with a whole bunch of different decks since Wave 2 dropped, some successful (just ran a blue Stunticon deck that was fun), some unsuccessful (King Starscream/Grapple has one awesome turn hidden it, and that's all). The one I keep coming back to, though, is this deck:

    Blackwing (8*)
    Dreadwind (8*)
    Thrust (9*)

    Ancient Wisdom x3
    Bombing Run x3
    Equipment Enthusiast x3
    Heavy-Handed x3
    Leap Into Battle x3
    Pep Talk x3
    Ready For Action x3
    Treasure Hunt x3
    Blast Shield x3
    Aerial Recon x3
    Crash Landing x2
    Armed Hovercraft x3
    Grenade Launcher x3
    Scoundrel’s Blaster x2

I've been doing pretty well with this one, and I think it's a blast to play, so I thought I'd share. The main thing you're doing with this deck is using Thrust to help Dreadwing swing for crazy damage. Even if you end up losing, you're practically guaranteed to get a hilarious one-hit-KO-style turn or two in on your opponent.

    Here's some play tips:
-Keep Thrust in alt mode the whole game.
-Flip Blackwing on turn 1 and attack with Dreadwind, flip Dreadwind on turn 2 and attack with Blackwing, combine into Dreadwing at end of turn 2. Now you've got a big beefy boy that hopefully only has a few points of damage on him.
-If at all possible, don't play any actions until you combine Dreadwing. His big weakness is that you need to scrap three cards to combine him, and if you play any cards before that you're likely to have zero cards in your hand going forward, making it difficult to pull off big combos.

There's definitely some room for improvement. Looking that list over, the Ready For Actions were from a version that used Thrust earlier and combined Dreadwing later, which I'm not sure is as effective, so those could be swapped out for something with better pips. I don't know. Food for thought.

    Have fun!

I don't think orange/black will be as strong as blue/black. With an orange bold type deck pierce is only useful in a few situations. Direct damage cards typically more useful in those decks. Look at builds like dinobots, sentinals, insecticons and wheeljack/grimlock most of the time pierce 4 and below will be useless. Pierce as a mechanic is well behind bold and straight attack pumping in orange decks.

Pierce has much more usefulness in blue decks with more characters with overall lower attacks.

Yeah, I don't disagree with this. I'm just saying Pierce was more useful than you'd think in Orange for being "sure" you get someone. And a lot of pierce options are white pips which aren't exactly bad to flip in orange anyways.

How will orange and black interact? It'll depend on the cards. I like the knife they spoiled quite a lot, the grenade less so.

Thanks for sharing - I'm going to build and play around with it this weekend. I'm fortunate to simultaneously support a dozen or so decks, which really lets me hone my own lists against objective measuring sticks of performance.

This is the best deck tech advice if you want to play the game at a competitive level. This game is so easy to play honestly by yourself with two decks. Have the meta decks built with proxies if need be. You'll get instant feedback on your list.

Okay, so I've been thinking. I want to build a plan, card draw deck built around BL Optimus Prime. What cards do you think I should use and who should I partner Optimus with?

    Edit: Thinking TL bumble bee

Total White Pip Cards: 7. Total Blue Pip Cards: 17. Total Orange Pip Cards: 20.

Not a bad start, but with your pip spread you're going to find that your attacks and defenses will be divergent (flipping orange when you need blue and vica versa) I'd focus more on one or the other. In the case of two wide the decks I've run tend to go blue to increase survivabliity, and then have direct damage via actions from OPBL and Bumblebee. Leap of Faith is is a great choice for a star card. I personally play Security console over Data Bank since I will get attacked more than I attack, but I think that's a personal choice. I think in my meta I'd get more use out of Drill Arms than scrapper gauntlets but that's also kind of a decision to be made situationally. I actually don't play Confidence, with Bumblebee and Optimus' abilities you're already going to play a lot of actions, Confidence won't help build your hand back up, I'd drop it for Work Overtime. Play Vaporize over Rammming speed for more blue. I wouldn't play Brainstorm it's another hand killer and you'll be playing 2 actions per turn anyway, I'd pick up some Noble's blasters to get some pierce into you. I'm not sure where the use of Master Plan will come from, I get that you want to plan for OPBL but if I think you're fine with Back up beams. I'd add in reinforced plating or sparring gear to take advantage of the blue if you shift in that direction. You also might want to think about direct damage. OPBL's big thing is when played well you don't really care about the flip value on attack, you are flipping to find a fling or plasma burst or marksmanship to do direct damage to your target, while also sitting behind some tough and blue and not taking a lot of damage.

Thanks Guy! I've done some edits based on your feedback
Deck list v2: Edit 2: deck list v1
Leap of Faith (white) x2, Security Console (white) x2, Secret Dealings (white/green) x3, Backup Plan (White x2) Matrix of Leadership (orange/blue) x2, Incoming Transmission (orange) x2, Sparring Gear (orange/green) x2, Mining Pick (orange) x2, Thermal Weaponry (orange) x2, Security Checkpoint (blue/blue) x2, Handheld Blaster (blue/blue) x2, Backup Beam (Blue/Green) x2, Pep Talk (blue) x2, Heavy-Handed (blue) x2, Marksmanship (blue) x2, Ion Blaster of Optimus Prime (blue) x1, Noble's Blaster (blue/green) x2, Vaporize (blue x2, Fling (no pip) x2, Plasma Burst (no pip) x2.
Total White Pip Cards: 9. Total Blue Pip Cards: 19. Total Orange Pip Cards: 10. Total No Pip Cards: 4
    Actions: 23. Utilities: 4. Weapons: 11. Armors: 2

At the moment I'm thinking that I've got too many weapons. I'm also thinking about adding Rapid Converstion, Suprise Attack, and or System Reboot, but dont knoe how they compare to other cards.

Maybe a couple extra equipment, but you also want to remember that 1/3 of a turn is playing an upgrade. It might be hard to tell what to drop without playing it against some other decks. Surprise Attack would be a good addition though, I totally missed that you didn't have it included already.

Thanks That Guy! I'll probably be on OCTGN tomorrow so if anyone is there PM so I can practice.

Here's another deck idea I had
    Characters, Dreadwind, Blackwing, Thrust
Concept: a high orange deck built to use bold, dreadwing's 6 upgrade slots to, and additional attack thru Thrust's alt mod to deal large hits. Once dreadwind is combined I'd use stealth to prevent them from being attacked because I'd be tapping both of them together typically.
Steamroll (no pip) x1, Crushing Size (white) x2, Forcefield x2 (white), Surprise Attack (white) x2, Energon Axe (blue) x2, Scoundrel's Blaster (blue/green) x2, Improvised Shield (orange/orange), Scrapper Gauntlets (orange) x2, Bashing Shield (orange/green), Flamethrower (orange) x2, Grenade Launcher (orange) x2, Power Punch (orange) x2, Stealthiness (orange) x2, Swindled (orange) x2, Battle Ready (orange) x2, New Design (orange) x2, Super Charge (orange), Zap (orange) x2, Ramming Speed (orange) x2, Scounge (orange/green) x2, Treasure Hunt (orange) x1.
Orange Pip Cards: 29. White Pip Cards: 6. Blue Pip Cards: 4. No Pip Cards: 1
    Actions: 18. Weapons:10. Utilities: 4 Armors: 10.

Battle Ready, Treasure Hunt, and Zap are all being considered for being dropped. I'm not 100% on this composistion, but I like it as a start.

Edit: I had another deck idea this morning, but I really need help with the battle card picks
Characters: Acid Storm, Flamewar, Headstrong. Ransack
Concept: This is a little more complicated then my usual ideas. We are looking to build Tough and prevent the Enemies from using Bold, hence Acid Storm, and Flamewar. Ransack is there to take damage the other character might have taken and Headstrong is there to use his Brave and 3 Defense to absorb hits for a while.
Battle Cards ATM: Rapid Conversion (white) x2, Force Field (white) x2, Suprise Attack (white) x2, Handheld Blaster (blue/blue) x2, Scoundrel's Blaster (blue/green) x2, Drill Arms (blue) x2, Energon Axe (blue) x2, Multi-Tool (blue) x1. Reinforced Plating (blue) x3, Evasive Maneuvers (blue) x2, Blast Shield (blue) x2, Energized Field (blue/blue) x2, Brainstorm (blue) x2, Leap Into Battle (blue) x2,Vaporize (blue) x3, Disruptive Entrance (blue) x2, The Bigger They Are... (blue) x2, Swap Missions (blue) x2, Disarm (blue) x2.

It's easier to say which cards I'd like to keep then cards I'd rather drop. Swap Missions is there to keep Headstrong tapped so the opponent has to attack him. Rapid Conversion is around in case one of my characters gets hit by Cornered. Heroism is there for damage distribution. Disruptive Entrance is for Enigma Scrapping. The rest are decently self-explanatory, but I feel like there's no big meshing or combos withing this structure.

New post to get people's attention (apologies if that's rude).
So I'm attempting to create a mix pip deck with Bluestreak and Silverbolt. I know I should run at least 1 recon system because both the pips and effect will help trigger the character's abilities. Right now my thougts for a third character are Wheeljack, Drag Strip, or Blitzwing (or maybe wave 3 Red Alert). What do you guys thing I should do? Any cards I should absolutely include?

Made a very rough cut of the battle card deck
Characters: Silverbolt, Bluestreak, and a third
Deck v1: Power Sword x2, Armed Hovercraft x2, Brainstorm x2, Leap Into Battle x2, Backup Beam x2, Vaporize x2, Incoming Transmission x2, Zap x2, Turbo Boosters x2, Bashing Shield x2, Field Repair x2, Sparring Gear x2, Data Pad x2, Force Field x2, Rapid Conversion, Escape Route x2, Surprise Attack x2, Fling x2, Roll Out x2, Recon System x2.
Orange Pip Cards: 14 Blue Pip Cards: 14 White Pip Cards: 10 No Pip Cards: 2
    Actions: 22, Armors: 6, Weapons: 6, Utilities:6
Notes: at the moment this feels really messy, I know I should focus on Bold to trigger the character abilities, and tough to dig for blues. I'm thinking about adding Noble's Blaster for more pierce and Secret Dealings for more plan. What input do you folks have?

    Yea, stop being rude. :p

    joking of course.

Personally, I have zero use for Silverbolt outside of Superion. The only one I regularly use is Fireflight,

Honestly, yeah he's not great, but I kind of just wanted to do a mix pip deck, I may trade him out for like Wheeljack and Prowl and then throw in some Start Your Engines, but I just like the flip focus that Silverbolt would add.
