I know it’s strange, but that’s just the way it works man. It’s like I said before, people are freaking out about the availablity of the Lightning Collection stuff, which is a HUGE reason (if not the main reason) why these things are hard to find, and even though the street date is still a part of it, it’s not as big as the former. Why else do you think that Zedd sold out within seconds on practically every online retailer. People just need to chill the hell out and be patient. This is NOT Targets fault by any means other than the street date, which is actually more common for action figures than you would think, even if the toyline is not based on another form of media such as a movie or TV show. Does that mean I agree with Target changing the street date, kind of. But do I understand why they did it, of course I do.

Don't get me wrong, I definitely agree that ultimately it's up to the retailer. Anybody who puts up a real fight with a store employee is just being entitled. I used to work for Target myself and I think I'd probably deny the sale too, or at least call up a manager to see if there's any way around it for the customer. It's a lousy situation all around, and I certainly didn't put up much of a fight myself - I've got too much dignity to argue with an employee about Power Rangers toys, so after asking about a hold, I said "fair enough, thanks anyway" and went about my day

And as you've pointed out, this is only wave one after all. I know we'll all be sick of these things pegwarming in two months.

Oh, oh, on a related note: all those Overwatch figures are up on Amazon today with prime shipping go go go

You can thank amiibo and pop collectors for target Corp register locking street dates and blocking sites like brickseek. It’s really a no win situation for them as a retailer either way they go at it.

I mean they have every reason to do that. It’s not like you need Brickseek or anything to find anything. It’s like I said, the Lightning Collection figures will be practically everywhere once 1. Next month comes around and 2. the hype dies way down. This sort of hype exists in our own fandom as well. Remember Power of the Primes? People were losing their sh*t over Grimlock and the Dinobots coming out, as well as getting them early because they were afraid of not being able to find them. But over time, they ended up everywhere, and we were sick of it and just wanted to move on to the next wave.

Most stores only received 1 case of the Lightning collection and the street date is 4/22 - this is from Corporate. I bought some yesterday no problem.

BTW where in the rules does it say that the sightings thread is only for Brick and Mortar stores? If I see something on Hasbro Pulse or Dorkside etc... that is relevant to the people here I cannot post that info?

who is the mod? maybe we can reach out to them peacefully that we've always tried to help eachother out here whether that be with personal sales, online in stock items or etc.

that is rough to delagate the sightings board to simply brick and mortar stores as we've helped eachother out with much more than that through the years.

Peoria Target has the Lightning Collection PRs on the shelf for those interested. Full case of this posting.

Agreed. Online sightings are every bit as important as brick and mortar sightings. Case in point, the SOC Lion Voltron reissue set sold out in less than 3 hours. Some of that stuff just FLASHES by, and we can use all the help we can get. I know I have gotten tipped off to some GREAT online deals here. The mods need to reconsider.

I think it was maybe misunderstood as promoting a personal sales thread rather than what it actually was, an online store that just so happens to be run by one of the locals.

Are we not allowed to post anything we want to sell anymore unless it's in BST section? Going through some stuff in coming months and prefer to just deal locally :/

I'm trying to sell locally in a BST thread right now - but maybe us Illinois folks should try to look into a free/cheap meeting room for a sale day/swap meet sometime in the coming months. Dunno if park districts have free or cheap meeting rooms. Or hell, meet on a nice day somewhere in a public park.

Hi guys, not sure if this is allowed either, but I made a local sales thread over here: Illinois Sales Thread

BTW, Bolingbrook Target had 1 Studio Series 38 Optimus Prime as of last night.

Hey everyone. To clarify personal sales are fine in a sightings thread. Posting stock for online stores that you don't own is fine. What we don't want are retailers (online or B&M) posting their own stock here or elsewhere on the boards.

    Hopefully this helps.
