Waif? Was that the name of the assassin girl Arya killed?

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, what was Ghost doing there? Like how did he get there? Did I miss a scene of those two being reunited?

I don't remember a scene either. I was under the impression that Ghost was always there just off camera.

Really nice calm before the storm kind of episode to twist the knife even deeper into our emotions when the body count goes crazy in the next episode.

With the knight king coming in close to get bran on the back of a dragon probably the crypt sure isn’t going to be safest place with a probable massacre happening there. Despite sentimentally you would think they would have the good senses to burn the down bodies there.

I’m not entirely convinced that Bran is on the side of the living as his every word since becoming this three eyed raven has been a catalyst for division amongst the living and I could imagine a scene when bran greets the night king with a smile. Some earlier scenes when he said he was waiting for an old friend could be foreshadowing for this and in the books the three eyed raven was talking about him fly and perhaps this could be on the back of an undead dragon.

I hope short promotional video that showed little discarded Easter egg artefacts from each character indicating that the main cast all perished when winterfell is sacked isn’t proven to be cannon but it could turn out to be the case.

Should Arya not be able to assassinate the night king or the red woman come back for a save I can’t see there being much of a chance of them winning as this army isn’t going to get tired or retreat with only John and/or daneries being able to make it out on dragons.

Well hey, maybe Littlefinger's teleport device is still in Winter Fell and they can find it in time to teleport everyone to King's Landing before they're all slaughtered.

Can't wait. Winterfell is so fucked, they should have kept moving south. Why stay in the north in the WW element walking around in a fort literally surrounded by bodies in the field and in the crypts. Surprised they forgot about the power of the NK and WW. I expect only a handful of character to survive this episode. Will be VERY surprised if they kill the night king or if he even appears. I think a big WTF moment is coming like the red wedding. Could see NK surprise show up and nuke Cersei and kings landing with Visarion, throwing so many peoples theories for a loop and surrounding everyone in Westeros north and South. If anyone thinks Cersei is the final boss and not the NK/WW has not been paying attention to the details.

I have been wracking my brain trying to understand their plan. Their army is amassed outside the castle walls to engage the White Walker army head-on in a delaying tactic while the children and elderly are tucked away in the crypts (with the dead!). Meanwhile, Bran is waiting in the Godswood for the Night King to fly in on his Ice Dragon so that Theon can jump out from behind a tree and kill him causing all the wights to go back to being dead. It sounds like a plan right out of Scooby-Doo.

Although honestly, it is the exact same plan from The Phantom Menace.

Since Branbot is essentially a piece of furniture with a catch-phrase media device attached at this point, it's not that surprising.

Of course the real reason is the writers assume that anybody not essential for what they want to do just needs to leave the room.

I'm guessing Brienne is done next episode. You don't fulfill someone's biggest hope on this show and just let it be. Dying in Jamie's arms while Toromund cries in the background would be appropriate I think.

I'm frankly looking forward to the deaths. I do wish Brienne could stick around, but I just don't see it happening. There are a lot of cardboard cutout characters at this point that need to be put out of our misery, and it looks like the time has come to start cleaning house.

Yes. And apparently folks in the UK kind of figured this was coming, since HBO Britain went out of it's way to say that Arya was 18 before the episode (I believe it is illegal in Britain to depict sex between characters that are under 18, no matter the age of the actual actors).

Hoping for a surprise twist where nobody dies.

Although part of me really wants it all to end with Davos being the sole survivor, looking around at all the bodies and saying “You stupid bloody bastards.”

    Roll credits.

The age of consent here is 16, and sex scenes can be depicted between characters younger than that. However the actors playing the roles must be at least 18.

Sky Atlantic show GoT in the UK and I don't think they made a big deal about Arya and Gendry. The only special warning I remember, beyond the usual 'sex, (sexual)violence and nudity', was when Shireen was burned alive.

I am glad someone else thinks this. The Battle of Winterfell literally makes no sense.

The good guys are obviously going to win in the end but a lot will die.
The Night Knight is the REAL threat.
    Cersei is not.

    Only two things can happen.

Either Cersei shows up with the Golden Army and the Red Witch at the 11th hour and saves the day. Which would suck because it’s not who Cersei is.

    Or

This is all a distraction and this battle is not THE battle. The Knight King is on his way South. Cersei is going to all of a sudden see her own breathe in the air and her boudyguard is going to have blue eyes.

And King’s landing has s bunch of Wild Fire so it’s probably getting blown off the map and Winterfell will be the new “King’s Landing” or Capital of Westeros.

Nah, she didn't raise the red flag like the bearded giant bane dude did. He's going to die saving her.

Honestly, I don't see that many main characters dying. I'll be surprised if more than 3 die.

Arya possibly carrying a child after her tryst with Gendry is an interesting possibility but I'm not so sure the show runners will go there.

I do wonder if either Jon/Aegon or Dany or whoever is left to rule will declare Gendry (if he survives) the last surviving Baratheon and the head of his house after everything is done. In the books, there is more than one of Robert's bastards (Maya Stone, for example) but they don't really appear much if at all in the show (not after Joffrey's purge).

Yeah, in the books she's known by just the moniker, "The Waif", since her name is never revealed.

Nice to see Ghost though. I expected the show runners to have completely blown their special FX budget on dragons and white walkers.

Well that was my first one where Cersei shows up with the Golden Army to save them. But honestly do see the Battle of Winterfell being the end of the White Walkers? I mean honestly it would be s pretty stupid ending. Westeros has lived in fear of this invasion for 100s of years built a giant wall, of epic proportions, and Jon and Dany just stop the whole invasion in one battle at Winterfell with two dragons? The Knight King smoked a dragon with one ice spear, like child’s play, when he didn’t have a dragon. It’s possible but I hope not.

I also hope a fight against Cersei isn’t the final act, she is such a lesser threat it would be a let down.

Lots of time in history a general dies or a king and the army just collapses..it wouldnt be a bad way for the night king to die. This show is about the iron throne not some popsicle man
