Pretty sure the finger knuckles have to be at a 45 degree angle too, like the finger tips and the upper parts of the fingers shouldn't be parallel at all with the hand itself.

Yeah, I was following up with an earlier post on the subject. You do have to fold the fingers up, as well, but the thumb is usually the sticking point.

Opened up my second copy and it has the same exact lines on the crotch as the first one but no break

So finally got around to opening and transforming this guy. Is every copies waist extremely loose which I think is the case? As a follow up is their a fix to tighten the waist? Besides that the figure is gorgeous.

 

Loose waist joint seems to be universal. You can use a pair of pliers to press the pin/rivet in deeper, or you can fall back on the old standby of using the superglue/nail polish/floor polish trick to add more friction around the joint.

In other news- I’ve finally caught up with this thread! Almost 30 pages to get through but I felt I had to as my Megatrons finally arrived today and I was hoping for a more conclusive verdict on crotch-gate but all I can tell is that, as long as mine isn’t broken out of the box, I should probably slightly loosen 3 screws and then just hope for the best... and don’t tug on his purple codpiece to make him split.

and I finally transformed it yesterday. no breaks my worst issue was some of the trex skin panels were super tight especially the middle one down his back that splits in half i almost cracked and ripped off everything applying trying gently gently gently then throwing caution to the wind with one firm controlled well angled tug and i still almost broke everything in the flailing splitting aftermath
