Does Sidearm Sideswipe have wrist rotation, by the way? All the pics of the OS show the blades facing the front rather than being equipped sideways, which is bothering me...

 

Having zero experience with sidearm i can appreciate this. I like the backpack more with less kibble and the trade off is the arms get the front of the vehicle like jazz. Mo big deal, the paint is lovely.

I sure hope the front wheels are not raised up in the final product... not a Bayformer fan, but I love Sidearm sideswipe and passed on all opportunities of owning the takara version   so I have hopes!

Since the Studio Series version ended up being so underwhelming, looks like this guy might be the best Sideswipe so far... now the question is whether to pick him up or hold out for an eventual MPM.

Curious to see a price, and would also be nice if they announced what changes & improvements they've made to the original Sidearm mold, if any.

 

I haven't played with the SS version but I do like the DotM deluxe better than Sidearm.
I hope this toy has deeper knee movement.

 

I see the "fins" on his feet that Sidearm had.
This makes me happy.
This increases my likelihood of the purchase of this product.

 

They might have ko'd the wrong sideswipe!

 

I'm not sure why people are hung up on Studio Series Sideswipe. I have him and he's great, but the fact that his weapons are required instead of optional storage in vehicle mode isn't all that great to me compared to Sidearm SS.

 

I disagree, I actually like how they incorporated the weapons smoothly into the alt mode, especially the guns as spoilers. But aside from that I think I like side arms more due to the way they handle the back. I do wish they had implemented wrist rotation tho

 

This guy has no wrist rotation?! That's a dealbreaker... well that and the poorly upsized alt mode.

Yeah if u look closely at the last promo shots with the black background to the one of the back of his arm u can see how his hand flips out in the transformation. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be a wrist swivel to allow for wrist rotation, nor any pictures that show the hands or blades in a different position. Sadly I think this means theres no articulation there. I hope I’m wrong tho

 

Fix those feet for me and this might be a worthwhile discussion. Sidearm's feet are much better. Lots of other small sculpt details that are superior on sidearm, but there are a couple places where studio series wins as well. But with those feet I feel like the answer is pretty clear. (For me at least)

 

I have SS Sideswipe and he's a solid 'meh' for me, so I'm watching this guy with interest.

Can he stand unaided? That's always the bar to clear with Movieverse Sideswipe toys...

 

You may have to do a little balancing but for the sake of not having bad feet I say it’s worth it
