I mean, when I was 7 years old we had G1. They may not have had tons of articulation but they had great detailing and paint apps. A lot of the early ones even had die-cast metal parts and rubber tires.

That's your nostalgia talking. G1 toys had neither, relying heavily on stickers.

I couldn't agree with you more.
Cyberverse looks cool, and I get the fact they're supposed to be more kid friendly, but the problem is many of them have crap engineering, and they have the retailers have the nerve to charge $14.00 for them too. They can't make a crap toy, and then over charge for it too.

No, a lot of them had great detailing, and stickers too. Some of them were crap of course, but a lot of them (quality-wise) were way better than Cyberverse.

Sheesh...no wonder kids dont buy Transformers anymore...
At this point, Hasbro knows that the average kid isn't going out to get Transformere anymore. Even the preschool Go-Bot type figures are usually bought out by hardcore adult collectors.

i mean, if some one give it to me as a present? i would love it... Dont know if being a 32y.o guy, aiming to Siege/SS i would spend money on this.

BUT HEY, its... A fun toy, right? give them that at least.

Well... compared to Cyberverse they did have superior paint apps. That’s paint and chrome on their diecast parts, you know. I personally love the gold chrome on the Dinobots. Much better than anything in Cyberverse.

Cyberverse at best are like if the late 80s you’d came without any stickers at all. I’d hate the G1 toys if they had zero stickers. Some of the stickers help to cover up unsightly screws.

I’d rather have the original Powermaster Optimus Prime still than any RiD’15 or Cyberverse Optimus Prime. See the difference in quality? Of course, the G1 toys are notorious for being bricks, but you don’t need articulation for an alternate mode.

Nope. I don’t collect G1 and think a lot of them look terrible by today’s standards. Having said that, I also know that they still look way better than these Cyberverse figures.

You might have me on the paint apps, but saying G1 doesn’t have great detailing compared to Cyberverse is total BS. Just because a toy is for kids doesn’t mean it has to look “kiddy”. That was my point.

I have to give Hasbro credit, that it at least looks better than Warrior Class Optimus Prime (even though the regular head looks a bit on the tiny side). But seeing the entire Ark on the back of his truck mode makes me wonder if Prime might have borrowed one of Dr. Pym's shrink machines.

I guess if I was a fetus I might find this toy amusing, but once I emerged from the womb I'd be unsatisfied and start looking for the Siege figures.

For whatever reason, his combined form reminds me of Action Master Rollout.

Looks cool over all but the massive amount of leg kibblek in truck mode is distracting

:D  I mean, the progressions there.

    He combines with his trailer.
Then his trailer and Ultra Magnus.
Then his trailer/superbase, Jetfire, and Overload
Then his trailer and drones and Wingsaber (twice!)
Then with Omega Supreme, drones etc.
    Until finally, a legit combiner.
Wearing the Ark as pants is just the precursor for the eventual bonding with Primus himself as he combines with Cybertron and fights Unicron. :D  :D  :D  :D
