I transformed him back to beast mode again tonight, and I can honestly say that I thoroughly love the figure.

Definitely going to pick up another when a reissue comes around.

Sorry for the crappy quality, but he’s just so magnificent in this mode and I had to share the love.

This guy isn’t like Dinobot. You can flip him back and forth and not worry about paint chipping. Good stuff

He and MP Primal are the only figures I own where I wish I had two to keep one in each mode. Maybe one day.

I am surprised how badass this looks. The pale purple and black/silver robot mode bits jive excellently.

They could bill it as a Robot Masters version.

I keep talking myself out of doing the same. With the release of 38 34S and hopefully toy versions of the other BW MP molds that I would get, having 1 for each mode at this time seems like it could be to crowded in the future.

This is amazing! The original Beast Wars Megatron was one of the first BW figures I got when I was a kid. I would SO get this and put it in its own display lol.

A8C38976-4A7B-44AF-9145-7DB44E87EA53.jpeg Absolutely amazing figure. I immediately opened him today when he arrived, to inspect the crotch plastic... no cracking, but the plastic texture has a lot of lines in it that are unnerving. It’s smooth on the surface though; I’ll keep an eye on it for any change as I transform a couple times.

Pulling up the chest piece was the most scary part of transformation; felt like it was either never going to move, or snap off and go flying.

Highly recommend this transformation video illustrating each step:

I just transformed him back into Dino mode. Whew am I sweating, but a really fun transformation. A little worse for ware around some of the tight tolerance spots now, but easier to move in those areas for sure. Lube up the backpack hinges too while you are at it. I looked at the pin as it was rotating, and it was definitely a misfired pin causing the stress.

Thanks Emgo316, and @Paik4Life for the help videowise, and thanks @Actar for the good guide about the fist/tail.

One thing I ran into that may cause at least one other person an issue. If you messed with the lounge mode at all, make sure the shoulders pads are on ALL THE WAY. It is easy to miss that, and will keep you from transforming him correctly.

Haven't had a chance to mess with him a lot, but this is really a nice figure.

Okay guys, I've been messing around with the robot mode of this guy and I want to ask, is it normal for the silver bits on his shoulder to be loose? It flops around, but it seems to be a feature of him rather than QC, and was wondering if there is any way to lock it down.

I skipped about 60(?) pages of this thread a few days ago because I temporarily stopped reading this thread when I received my shipping notification so I apologise if this question has been tackled/answered before

Those parts are loose to accommodate for the friction shoulder joints when you flex them upwards. It’s definitely a feature, although maybe a smoother, controlled action would have been better, like it ONLY being able to move when you move the shoulder up. For me, it doesn’t really affect handling the figure, unless maybe someone would want to pose Megatron upside down, those silver bits should stay down in any pose.

Yeah they are supposed to be loose, the accommodate the shoulder/arm articulation. I actually like it, they are designed to move out of the way as you manipulate the arms, it's clever. Same goes for the collapsing panels in his legs in both modes that allow for a deeper knee bend and slide in and out to cover gaps. For those aforementioned silver parts there's a step in the instructions where you need to pull them forward to lock the shoulders into position and allow more room for the butterfly joints, I dont think it makes them any less loose though.

I think you've got that backwards.

The shoulders push forward to centre them for beast mode, and push back in robot mode to free up the butterfly joints in the shoulders. Neither position really has any effect on the silver "tusks" on his shoulders, though.

Still can’t fully tab in the tail on one figure despite comparing it to the other. Dunno the problem. Any suggestions which video to watch at what point to understand the important steps?

Sorry I meant push back. I've only transformed him a couple of times and I did say I didn't think they affected the lose of the silver sections much if at all.

Are you able to take a picture of how you've been positioning the hand? It's 100% about how you pose the hand in there.

Again, it relies on how tightly you fold up the thumb. Try folding it up, without the fingers in the way, and see how far it goes. If any part of the thumb sticks out further than where the joint is, then the tail won't close up fully.

I see, thanks for the help, really appreciate it! Glad to know that even though the looseness isn't desirable for me, it actually is a feature that helps accommodate the figure's articulation.
