doctor help, my newborn son doesn't understand the intricacies of morality or personal responsibility, there's something wrong with him!
Tailgate was portrayed as a human baby in Swearth. But then it was Swearth and the human forms for some other characters are exactly accurate portrayals of them.
No; Tailgate, at best, is the equivalent of a toddler. Rubble is meant to be a newborn. There is a HUGE difference in the development (ability to process stuff) between those two stages. A baby at 8 months can do a hell of a lot more things than a baby at 8 weeks.
I think part of the problem may be a visual thing? Like There's no real visual indication that Rubble is a new born, or that the other bots are older. It could be we dont immediately assume he's as young as he is due to his abilities and appearance.
I won't go that far. I just know from experience dealing with all my nieces and nephews that there is a world of difference between a newborn and even a 6 month old.
Chromia's right though. Rubble is his gang name, cos that's all that's left of you when he's done with you.
I have suspicions and questions regarding Rubble, as well. And . . . I'm a bit miffed with what I saw of Elita One. Totally not happy with that at all. I keep hoping they will REALLY go back to the Transformers G1 roots and put Optimus and Elita back together again. Serious irritating they don't. Wish I knew why. Anyone know why they chose to place Orion Pax as a senator? I'm not sure I'm liking it. I was hoping they'd go back to the idea of him being a dock worker . . . and his body seems kinda scrunched. Seem that way to anyone else?
IDK, Maybe it's just me but this is taking way to long. 3 issues in and there's hardly any advancement on any of the main plots. Thank god im not paying to read these
Wait - is there a windblade siege toy? No? Why is she in the book? There IS a sideswipe toy. Why hasn't he shown up yet?
Question: How are you reading these for free? Cause, maybe you’re borrowing a friends, I dunno, but for those out there that are ripping these, that’s why we have inferior work. Companies can’t invest if their product is consumed illegally and with no financial compensation.
is there a siege bumblebee? no? how about rubble? no? how about quake? no? elita one? no? wheeljack? no? froid? no? it is inevitable that characters without toys will make it into the comics. its only the 3rd issue, i have no doubts sideswipe will be in the comic
Issue 3 did feel a bit like it was "treading water", but I find that the sedate pace of the book does more to sell the peacefulness of Cybertron than walls of text would do, and I don't know that we've ever seen a "newborn" Transformer get introduced to the world and all his options in life. I still wonder what effect finding Brainstorm will have on him and his decisions going forward? I like the future Decepticons as a political protest group rather than starting as out and out violent revolutionaries. I'm not a fan of Windblade. She feels like Drift ver. 2.0 to me, a character that fans were never clamoring for, foisted on us and told how awesome she is. I don't get the appeal. Thank goodness we're finished with the dreary post-war setting and wall to wall attempts at humorous dialogue that almost always fell flat. I'm enjoying Transformers comics again, and I hope that continues.
I'm a 30 year client of the same comic book shop and I'm friends with the owner. He lets me look at issues before buying. I was out on the series when I saw the art but was willing to give it a shot for the story. However I don't feel that a creators effort or quality of work is tied to whether we're purchasing their work. In fact it should drive them to do better, not worse. But of course that's my opinion on how the series is going. Others might enjoy the prolonged plot threads. I'm sure the writer feels he's crafting a clever "who done it" story. If all this time invested on telling us about Rubble doesn't pay off in the end, then his arc has been a waste for dragging this long.
Cut off for ordering #7 (for me, thru my mail order service) is today; I'm going to try to sit down and reread 1 thru 3 in one go and see if I can muster up the enthusiasm to stick around to 12. Speaking negatively, I'm ready to give up with 6, but this is going to be kind of a last chance read thru, I guess. Man, IDW's Transformers output has been extremely uneven over the years. Some incredible highs, but some pretty murky lows.
I really do think a large part of the problem with this book is the art. I'm looking through the pages and all the characters seem so listless. I wonder if the lukewarm reception this book is getting would be better if we had a more vibrant artist drawing the book. I imagine some of the negative comments wouldn't be here if someone like Kei Zama was 'at the wheel'.
