Yeah, I was very surprised, since I haven't heard anything about fixed versions going out, and the problems seemed to be widespread.

 

Picked mine up off the shelf yesterday after leaving him standing there a while, noticed his right arm was a bit loose, checked the joint and it has cracked. It was fine last time I picked him up. Wtf?

 

As said on twitter, exactly the same for me. Absolute bullshit. It still holds a pose as the treads stop simply flopping down but yeah. Glad I didn;t pre-order the rest.

This thing is destroying itself MUCH faster than Hasbro MP09 does. I am super glad the price scared me off and I didn't preorder these. I wanted to see what reviews were like before I went all in on this set. I love the DJD and I really wanted this set, but it seems way too expensive for how fragile it is.

 

Broken right out of the box. Really disappointed in iron factory, I wanted to get their megatron but this and my experience with the datsun bros are making me never touch an IF product ever again, shame, the DJD looked nice and the megs looks so good.

 

This is a wide spread problem with this particular figure/run.

I’m not saying it’s your fault (it’s theirs), but things happen. Just ask your retailer for a replacement or exchange.

Also, their Datsun bro’s are beloved and there is probably 20 people in this thread who would gladly take them off your hands if you would like to part with them.

I wouldn’t write off the company because of this though (however, you do you of course). They’re super popular for a reason. Roll with the punches this time around and see what your retailer can do for you.

 

dont write off the brand over tarn he was flawed from the jump. give their megatron a chance as he is simply amazing and one of the best.

im curious as to what issues you had with the datsun bros. was it the wings?

 

Skipping out on that Megs because of a broken Tarn will turn a "damn shame" into a tragedy.

 

Opened the box, unscrewed, added silicone lubricant to shoulder joints (including purple pieces in body), screwed all back and enjoying beautiful figure

 

Has anyone received a replacement shoulder from IF? I haven't heard any updates from my retailer regarding a replacement yet.

 

Maybe still in production, they seemed to be falling behind with the other djd releases.

 

My shoulder posts had stress marks, so I reached out to Netclow and he sent me two replacements when Dubhe first came out. Not sure if anyone has got replacements for the black shoulder piece that splits though.

 

ToyDojo sent me a replacement arm / shoulder last week.

 

While I agree with you point I must say my Tarn is perfect, transformed several times and no stress marks... but my Megatron biceps cracked during transformation (though IF sent Robotoybase a replacement arm and now all is good for me).

Bottom line - IF does need to sort some stuff, but they are improving, just purchase from sellers willing to contact them for you. I also had issues with MFT Grimlock so it is not just IF.

 

I asked The Chosen Prime specifically about it before shipping out my stash last week - they had not received any replacements yet.

 

I like this toy conceptually, it looks awesome. But the growing ambition of iron factory’s engineering, and their inability to calibrate tolerances, are just really starting to clash. I understand that shit happens, and not every toy is perfect, but a consistent need for shock oil so that toys don't break themselves is an issue. I’ve been buying IF since Turrets and Manacle, and im tired of half of their products being ticking time-bombs.

 

Finally got my Tarn in, as is the case for most his right shoulder is cracked, still holds a post pretty well though. Can't see any stress marks either so that's good at least.

 

My son ordered one that arrived from Chosen Prime last week, and there was already lube on the right shoulder. It's still a tight joint, but it moves very smoothly.

He's a decent little figure. The tank mode could be a lot better though, and it needs some ankle tilt. I'd probably go for the whole set in Tarn deco, but otherwise have no interest.

 

I get mine off the shelf every couple of weeks to just move the shoulders around some. Every time I do the right shoulder is super tight but once it starts moving it moves pretty freely. I don't know how I got so lucky with mine.
