Like Wolfguard said, the Dark Elf Trilogy would be good, but even better would be the entire Drizzt series done as a weekly TV series or multiple TV Mini-Series. If SF Channel can do EarthSea and Dune Minis, they could do the Drizzt books. And I agree on Starship Troopers, good movie, better book. And Heinlein did so many other books that deserve the movie treatment, like "The Door into Summer", "Orphans of the Sky", and "Job: A Comedy of Justice", just to name a few.
Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. EDIT: HOLY shit there IS a movie being made for it, AND in pre-production! Wow I did not know that.
I think they're making this into a movie. Last I read was the Johnny Depp had the rights to it. I love Hornby's work, his new one was just released, I have to pick that up.
The Dragonlance Chronicles and Legends series both deserve the big screen treatment. I see no reason not to make this happen with the success of LotR. No, the horrid Dungeons and Dragons movie is not enough reason not to do a GOOD D&D story (Marlon Wayans FTL).
The three trilogy books from Timothy Zahn's Star Wars story featuring Admiral Thrawn. It'd be nice to see some good sequels to Star Wars as opposed to those god-awful prequels.
rushdie's the ground beneath her feet. i actually prefer midnights children but something in my gut tells me TGBHF could make a an interesting, if not great, film.
