Awwwwwwwwww.. I thought it was an actual reveal. Sadness..

 

If they reveal Tigatron, I'll love it - but I'm also very curious to see on how they actually make him. Upscaled and tweaked Cheetor mold? Inferno-->Grapple magic? His transformation and model are essentially both Cheetor's, it's just that he's bigger and has a different head and textures. Hell, his faceplate in the show would be swappable with Cheetor's if not for size difference. But then would they charge the same amount? They did for Inferno and Grapple, as far as I know, but this would be unprecedented in that it's an upscale of sorts in the MP line. I'll be honest, I'd be a bit mad if they charged the same amount as someone like Dinobot.

 

TT have to be using Mainframe's original design files. They've plugged them into their own design software and are going from there. Nothing else can explain the the incredible level of detail on these figures.

As such, Tigatron will be a 100% new model. No parts-sharing. No up-scaling.

 

Uh, if they were using the original models, then Tigatron wouldn't be brand new, he's literally a palette-swapped Cheetor in the show with a different face panel. His beast mode is something else entirely, but it still shares rigging with Cheetor's to save costs. You also can't plug in a 3D model into a CAD program like what TT uses to design these figures, not only would they not be compatible, but even if made compatible, it doesn't really give you any leeway in actually designing the figure, it would just serve as a reference. Not to mention there's all manner of caveats, such as Dinobot's large chest cavity in the show being bulked up to fit all the kibble and such. I would be shocked if he wasn't sharing some design elements. That said, thinking about it, if he is partly upscaled, then it would explain a cost differential, since that would necessitate a physically bigger mold.

 

If he's an remod/remold I guess we could see him pretty soon. If they designed cheetor as a stand alone and didn't account for making Tigatron at some point , it will probably be a new mold. If he's a remold, he and a repaint like Dietrius or Red Sunstreaker help stretch 50 out to a new mold. Then again it would be kind of cool to get Waspinator and Starscream back-to -back.

 

In the show, Tigatron's rear beast legs aren't his robot legs. Mainframe's animators (rightfully) cheated and totally changed them from one mode to the other. TT can't do that. His beast legs have to be his robot legs. With that in mind, the extra bulk of his beast legs gets carried through to his robot legs. They may have a similar transformation (though the extra size could throw up additional opportunities for tweaking it to lessen the kibble), but the molds used to create them are totally different to those used to make Cheetor.

Tigatron's robot arms also have to be different to Cheetor's. Not only larger, but if TT are watching the show (which they clearly are), they know Tigatron needs his wrist-rockets.

His front beast legs are also different. Thicker than Cheetor's, and also sit differently on the back in robot-mode.

Then there's the faux chests, robot heads, larger weapons... He is 100% different to Cheetor when it comes to creating a toy of what was seen on screen.

I have ever faith in TT's design team, but they could pore over those episodes for years and never get the level of detail we've seen in these figures. They must have their hands on Mainframe's files.

 

The nezzzzt BW is 99.99% gonna be Waspinator. The clues are overwhelming! Let me break it the hell down:


1. MP-44

Prime 3.0 accessories teased Bumblebee and Starscream. The one bot has tire connection to Screamer is Wasp!

2. MP-43

BW Megatron's voice chips featured Blackarachnia talking via communicator and Megatron calling for Waspinator. And just a side note: Megatron also shows us TT is not shy to do part forming gimmicks and Wasp will take it to the next level to create a classic scene with the up coming Spider lady! It's no accident that Megatron brushing his Dino teeth, taking the bath, and Blackarachnia kicking poor Wasp's head happened in the same episode.

3. 2019 is the year of Bumblebee

We just got a yellow bot reissued. What could be a more perfect timing to reveal a Bee-like bot! You can already see fans craving for Bee posing with Wasp!

4. MP-47 Hound

Bee is yellow. Hound is green. Yellow plus green!

 

I have solid sources that have seen the Tigatron proto. It’s exactly what we want. Larger than primal, and the transformation is exactly the same.

@Verno raises some excellent points. I still trust my sources here, but I think the transformation may have some ‘Grapple Magic’ that my sources haven’t noticed.

At least....I used to. Hasui era carbots. Before the BWs. Before the toon look.

Man. I became such a curmudgeon.

 

They do look similar in the show but upon close inspection they are more different than you or I originally remembered. It’s not simply a palette swap. Also Tigatron is almost the size of Dinobot. Luckily they also designed the tiger model to be physically taller than cheetor as well. It’s going to be a much bigger toy than most of us are ready for.

And the colors are going to be soooooo amazing on my shelf. That white and teal-green really make the entire ensemble pop.

 

My guess is that he’ll be a combination of added and remoulded parts. There’s a lot of people that believe he’s significantly taller than Primal, which would necessitate a whole new mold, but even if they do 50-60% new parts to do the shell and beef him up a little, I think they can manage it with Tigatron ending up around the same size - my guess for his actual proper height.

 

I hope we get Waspinator and then Rattrap, finish off the Scott McNeil voiced S1 characters. Both I bet will be very easy and fun to pose.

 

I think we'll be seeing a MPV3 starscream, Just look at the new head.

I wish it was a different character; another axalon crew member or Predacon preferably, either way I'm not complaining more Beast Wars is always a good thing.
