I could see them being a lil concerned as some of their G2 dinobots are still shelf warming.

I wouldn't expect it soon, but I wanted to know as to plan. I need to decide if I want to get a second one to have custom painted or not later. If FT might do it themselves I wouldn't since it would be cheaper than buying the figure and then paying for the custom job.

Yeah, I figured that as well, but I still wanted to know rather than assume.

Now that FT Hoodlum and FT-10X Phoenix have been released, what's next and when?

Well... according to you, it will be FT-31A Roadking, and perhap in May. :D

I checked again after the FT-10X release to see if anything had changed and Fans Toys confirmed (again) that FT-31A is next.

They dropped Spindrift out of nowhere a while back and I wouldn't be surprised to see some of those minibots suddenly appear... then there always a backlog of figures that people want reissued. It's just speculation, but Fans Toys seems eager to compete with DX9 with their Stunticons.

Fans Toys seemingly has a "good problem" in that manufacturing is unable to keep up with demand. Retailers and collectors are lined up and ready to surrender their money for a simple reissue, like Forager.

W/regards to timelines and expectations, it may be telling that FT-10X had a "2018" date on the box. When those boxes were designed and printed, I think it's reasonable to assume that they thought FT-10X might be ready before 2019.

Anyway.... a break between Fans Toys releases is nice for the bank account. :)

ShowZ has announced on their FB page that they are now accepting preorder deposits for FT-44 Thomas.
Final price is not yet known. They have an ETA of July 2019. If that ETA holds true then we wont have to wait an eternity for this.
4 months from reveal to release is pretty darn good, especially for FT.

The actual product page does not have an ETA that I can find. I would honestly just ignore ShowZ's listings. They also have dummy preorders up for almost every other announced FT product while every other store (unless some Taobao store has it) only has Motormaster, Silverbolt, and Blurr.

FT-30A will be next after Road King. I'm quite sad that we're not getting Jabber or even Chomp before that, but that is JJ's decision.

I think it kind of makes sense... of the potential buyers who are going to buy a combiner, many are only going to buy one. Zeta has already beaten Fans Toys to market.

When you buy one combiner bot you're committing to the remaining four. So this way Fans Toys gets to lock-in collectors for two combiners and determine how many of the limb bots to manufacture.

Personally, I'd like to see how one combiner functions before taking the plunge on a second.... but the individual bots look great and I know I'm willing to take that risk.

Oh I get why they are doing it, I'm just disappointed because I want to be done with collecting sooner than 2021 or however long it will take for them to get all ten combiner bots out for Menasor and Superion plus also release the figures that I actually need. I don't have an MP Blurr, so for me that's a hole to be filled, one of the very few left in a Season1-Season2-'86Movie collection. MP Skullcruncher/Chomp is also a hole for those who collect headmasters. It's a similar disappointment as with MMC pushing up a bunch of Ocular Max stuff that is redundant rather than MP figures that are currently not available. We're getting a 3rd MP Bruticus set and even some non-G1 OcMax figures, over the four Autobot cassette-bots that team up with Blaster (for which we have Transistor standing in, at least, but by himself with no partners). Likewise MakeToys not finishing up their headmasters, in favor of repaints and Cross Dimensions. These production roadmap decisions are not a good sign for those who are trying to finish things up with masterpiece collections.

I already have a ZT Superion and a soon-to-be-completed XTB Menasor set, so the FT combiners are somewhat superfluous rather than necessary. And if we're doing repeat figures, I'd much rather have their Astrotrain, their Warpath, their Blitzwing, and their Trailbreaker, since the existing options for those figures are all ripe for replacement and needed much sooner than yet another combiner team. Do I want FT to release their combiners? Yes, of course. But they're nowhere near as important to the collection, so they can wait a while. They're not first to market on either team anyway, so there's really no need to push them up in the production cycle over characters that are open spots on the shelf.

Non-Asian sellers are saying they expect to have Roadking in stock next week or the week after. Asian sellers will likely receive their stock a week or two after that.

If it helps, Jabber is stated to be releasing in 2019 but they're not sure when in 2019.

FWIW, TCP has/had him scheduled for Q2 of 2019.

We're in the beginning of Q2 now and if FT-31A and FT-30A are the next two releases, it's possible that Jabber could still be released in Q2, but I'm not sure that it's likely.

I feel like most collectors are going to want the limb bots for their two combiners. To do that, we're talking about 8 new figures for both combiners. Based on what we've seen in previous years, I would expect the limbs to be available no sooner than late 2020. It took over 3 years to get all 5 dinobots. For reference, Fans Toys released 8 new figures in 2017, their peak production year.

And that doesn't factor in any possible reissues...

I'm hopeful that the recent reveals are an indication that Fans Toys is planning to increase production from what we saw in 2018.

The latest word from JJ (as of today) is that he isn't sure when Jabber will happen, but he does intend to get him out in 2019 (in comparison to the ones that were put in stasis for a time like Outrider). Also confirmed that he's planning to mix the single bots into the production roadmap between some of the combiner team members, which is good news for those looking forward to some of the single bots.

Does anyone know if FT-16 Sovereign for FT-10(X) Phoenix will ever get reissued? Debating if it's worth to wait for these or buy it now before they become too high. TIA.

Sovereign had a reissue just last year iirc, and Phoenix had a reissue the year before. The X variants don't generally get a reissue ever, but nothing is absolute in the 3P world. If you really want them, you should probably pick them up now and enjoy them.

FT repaints including X versions don't have a history of being reissued. Once they're gone, they're gone for good. Regular FT-10 has a better chance of being reissued than FT-10X. As far as another FT-16 reissue coming goes, you'll have to ask dalianjj directly via PM to find out for sure.

Wasn't Sovereign reissued in the last six months or so?
