Yeah, but you have to realise that the abs on the wei jiang one at the moment at least, are much more inaccurate than the bmb one. And the worst part is that they are front and center, which mean when you look at the figure, that's the first thing you see. I'm in the latter camp in that I really like this figure and I really hope those abs are fixable, but I can understand why some people would want to stick with the bmb one. It's so close, yet so far.

 

I'm talking about the silhouette, especially from the side. IDK how y'all are fine with beer belly prime

Found a recent photo that may imply that the abs are able to curve down, or at least tuck away more

 

How?

 

The abs are at a slight angle to the main chest piece, implying a vastly different transformation from the mpm. At this point, I think anything we say is probably just speculation, and we can't say much is set in stone, considering how different the figure is from its base

 

I don't see a beer belly or gut...to me, this rendition looks like this:

The squared ab section is indicative of this version of "prime"...all the others are rounded because of different transformation. I believe you'll be able to have your cake and eat it too.

 

WJ did the abs wrong or just transformed the figure wrong. Till an official update showing the abs correctly transformed show up I am not buying that thing, no matter what other improvements does it have.
I waited till now and skipped every other "improved" version of that mold to see how the WJ looks like. If it turns out looking like shit they will not have my money.
I dontd want a "in between compromise" figure when talking about improved molds, I want a figure from which have been squeezed out its entire potential.
Only thing to do Is wait and see. I don't like trying to convince myself that a thing I don't like is good just because I need something to buy.

 

This one is much better than MPM optimus.

 

If you look at the recent photos, you can see that the bent parts on the doors aren't folded out all the way, so they're blocking the abs from shifting down.

 

After zooming in on that, it seems like this has the same product image issues that the official one has, where they haven't pushed the top of the roof/chest all the way down, effectively making everything pushed up, much further than they should be. Like many others, I'll wait for an actual review of out, in hand, before final judgement is made; as I have a hard time believing that they'd allow such an oversight on the complete design.

 

So... Was not this guy supposed to be upscaled?

If he was that size, I'd be all over him.

 

That's just the original custom by black Apple. HOPEFULLY, we'll get a release that's not so much bigger.

 

They are not mistransformed, per Weijiang’s clarification, unfortunately.
