You'd think that this would be something DX9 problem solved well before releasing the figure.
"Can the figure hold his rifle?"

Link to the adapter? Pretty sure I've searched Shapeways before and not found one.

 

It suggests to me that the Targetmaster was an afterthought, maybe done by a different designer altogether.

Even at that, you'd think someone would do even the basic compatibility once over.

 

Never underestimate how little people give a shit when it's crunch time. "You wanted a gun, you've got one! The factory wants the molds yesterday!"

 

Yeah. That's true too.

 

Maybe they did it on purpose, so we could write pages and pages about it over the years and win a Guinness record for most beaten dead horse.

Maybe they expected someone to take photos with clever one liners, like Rodimus looking dumbfounded and Firebolt saying, "You can't handle me!" Because it was Hot Rod that had the TM, not Rodimus  

...who can say.

 

I often ask, why did this Rodimus come with a TM.

 

Hey, so can I finally get a right hand for my DX9 Carry? Mine came with two left hands. Anyone? Calling DX9!!!

Also my right heel spur is stuck and won't budge. Might need a replacement there too. Again, will DX9 help me out? I got ignored by the vendor I purchased from, TCP....

I was going to get another DX9 Carry and sell off the dud I got from TCP. Now that tfsafari has a DX9 Carry for cheap, I might go that route. If I get another dud, then I'm done with this whole DX9 Carry mess.

 

TCP is incredibly responsive. How long did you give them to answer? You can also try calling their number and talk to them directly if you think they missed your email. I’ve gotten countless repaired parts. You may need to be very patient with Dx9 though. Depends on when they send tcp anything

 

My Carry has the same heel issue, but on the left leg. I can see what it is, too, and I keep meaning to pick up an X-acto knife to shave off some of the excess plastic in that area, but I just...keep not doing it, for some reason.

 

Huh. I’m not a huge fan of Carry - his Ox stylings don’t match the rest of my collection and his alt is tiny, but the two pluses he’s always had for me are:
1- He’s insanely solid, dense and sturdy
2 - He has hands-down, without a shadow of a doubt, the best looking TargetMaster I’ve ever seen. Every other TM seems to turn into a huge block of robot parts with a handle sticking out, while Carry’s actually looks like a rifle. It actually transforms rather than folding in half and just... poking a handle out. Having said that, I honestly can’t remember having any issues with him holding the gun, but Carry’s on my shelf with a matrix at the moment and I haven’t the faintest where the TM is so can’t really test it.

 

It's been a few months with no answer.
I think it'll be faster to just buy a new one than wait for a replacement hand, probably be even more of a hassle just for one tiny insignificant part.

I'll have to do that if the second copy has the same heel issue. DX9 really dropped the ball on my copy and several other copies as quite a few people are having the heel issue. I guess their QC checkers took the day off.

Honestly, I really like this figure, enough to buy a second copy because he's that good of a figure, if only they could have QC'd these issues before shipping them out.
