i'm not paying for the reboot books, and i don't think i will bother reading them further. just wanted to make sure i judged it based on its contents, not a wiki summary or forum comments.

Read the old and haven't read the new. Not judging the new, it's just that after thirteen years I feel sated for TF stories! I've shifted my fandom to the toy collecting for now.

The thread is not meant for judging, s'all good. Just wanna see cold numbers to see how people decided so far.

I couldn't judge the new run, as I haven't read it yet. I just didn't read it yet, cos I was not yet willing to start yet another continuity. Maybe it will win me over, once I've read the trade.

I think the point was inviting new fans, we are mostly established fans.

A reboot is almost necessary. They want newer fans to jump on now. The same happened with Marvel's line of Ultimate comics, although they ran alongside the main series.

So far the reboot hasn't been doing much to hold my attention, but I'm willing to check it out for at least a few more issues before dropping it.

I'm still gonna check out the Ghostbusters crossover and of course that awesome looking '84, which I have much higher hopes for than the current mainline IDW Reboot of the continuity.

The new books need some help... Seriously. Flat story. Sub-par art.
The old ones started trailing off when IDW decided they wanted to start doing "event comics", but some of the magic continued at least. It seems like if the goal was to bring in new fans, then IDW would at least put out quality product. So far, I'm not seeing it. I foresee TF comics going the way of G.I. Joe... away.

I read the entire old IDW continuity up until around issue 50 of Robots In Disguise and issue 50 of More Than Meets The Eye. I started getting really bored with it, and was not looking forward to all the Hasbro Universe crossover stuff, so dropped it all completely about a year ago. Eventually I think I'll power through the rest, since I'm close to the end. I'm at least curious about the Unicron event.

I read the first two issues of the new 2019 series. It seems OK, but I haven't been blown away by the story or art so far. I think I'll keep up with it this year though, and see how it goes. Honestly, it barely feels like a reboot so far.

Just read the first 2 issues. I don't want to hear any more about the slow pace. I'm old enough to remember how these boards were flooded with posts gushing about muh worldbuilding. Now we get all the worldbuilding we can handle and these boards are choking on complaints about slow pace.

I'm sticking around but I do hope the new comics pick up soon. This new universe just feels very flat. We're being told a lot of things but it all lacks substance, like, there are protests but (Unless I missed or misunderstood something)we don't know why and what we've seen on Cybertron doesn't give us a hint as to why. New Cybertron looks really nice! Food for everyone. You can choose your own job, too! Maybe I'm just comparing it too much to the old books, where it was life on Cybertron was just ENDLESS SUFFERING, but we'll see.

I read the old IDW for the last few years, dropped buying when they did away with the old continuity. Nothing personal, I did the exact same thing when Dreamwave died and IDW took over. If the book is still around in a few years, I'll give it a try. That way, I can binge and get to the good stuff..... Assuming IDW is still around.
