He actually lives there with his family as permanent residents. So, if there were any local stores like La Tendo or The Falcon’s Hangar that had it in store (but not for online delivery) I could have him pick it up like a proxy service haha.
Haha, their price is not too ridiculous but I’d be pissed too. Reality is the premium you paid is probably worth avoiding the frustration of having to check constantly from now until release date to maybe get the original preorder price. Lol! A happy ending thrown in would make the deal seem even more worth it.
yeah, which is why I normally just show up for preorder night , preorder my valk or at least try to, , then good back to bed and be up for work in a couple of hours. Like everything else, you either spend the extra TIME or the extra MONEY.
Yep. I always stay up to preorder any popular item I want. Just get it over with and also the lowest price. Thank goodness for TWE and other brands that focus just on niche items and therefore make enough to not have a preorder madness. Nice to give me a break sometimes.
The Dengeki shots @borgified posted broke me right after I bought the Bandai VF-1S Super Valkyrie Chunky Monkey on Mandy but before I ordered 2 of the Sentinel Lancers.... Because good financial decisions.
Yeah, it’s beautiful! Sounds like you made some good decisions to me. But then again, I could be a certified hoarder.
There's still a chance that etailers will open up preorders again. They did with relatively recent releases like the TV DX Messer VF-31F and DX VF-1J. I've never user used the apps for notifications. I got the DX YF-19 when it was released for a preorder price. Before that a few retailers had reopened up preorders for it that lasted hours maybe a month or so before released. I was able to order mine with the preorder discount the day it was released. Hell that DX YF-19 set had more demand going in than this DX TV VF-1A Max did. Yet people were able to get one from etailers with preorder discounts. It's too early to predict that this DX VF-1A Max type will be a short run or rare. The secondary sellers, scalpers, whatever, want you to think that. And lately Bandai has taken note of some of their items being high in demand and made an additional run for other lines to feed demand. It's not outside the realm of possibility that they may do the same with the DX VF-1A Max. It literally hasn't even been a week yet. And I think it's only a matter of time before Japanese etailers come up with a better order allocation system for Bandai preorder nights. The last thing any web-based business wants is a crashed server because that screws things up for any customer trying to buy something, not just Bandai goods. I'm staying optimistic, I've seen worse times ordering Bandai DX's.
NY might be your best bet: You are being redirected... Or Amazon JP. All running about the same price. Edit: Not sure why the hyperlink says that.
Yeah I had posted it there. Definitely at your own risk. It’s new, but they have an eBay store with 100% rating with about 360 reviews. Site seems legit. Just thought it’d be good to give another option that wasn’t overpriced.

It's sold out on that site a few min after I posted the link anyway. For those really wanting a Max but not wanting to pay the $250 - $300 to get one, it was a good option using PayPal because you have 180 days to make a claim. PayPal is awesome that way. Worst-case scenario, things seems sketchy on delivery, a person makes a claim and is in the same boat they were in before trying to secure one at $250 when product is launched. Best case scenario, it turns out to be a good shop. I'm still going to keep my eye on them for other product. It seems really transparent on the site that it is an e-shop. And as an eBay retailer he has 100% ratings. I wouldn't be surprised if the "shop" is out of this guy's home and that's why all of the info is redacted. I was a professional musician for some years (just not a famous one) so I managed my own website, etc. and had all of my info private on WHOIS as well since it reflected my personal info and not a business addy, etc. Anyway, definitely not the way to go if you were able to secure from some of the big league companies or if you have the additional funds to pay for the higher prices, but great for those with nothing to lose and with the security of PayPal getting your back.
