Could someone post a clear image of the box next to a few of the newer carbot boxes?
I want to see how off/faded it looks in comparison.

It sounds really stupid but the box's I've seen have put me off ordering this for the time being.. I like them all stored together consistently and in good condition.

I was thinking of waiting for a reissue that may correct this and the bay movie Autobot logo that Sam made me aware of...
However he looks so good from you guys pics I'm reconsidering waiting for something that might not happen for years.

 

I don't think that'll ever happen, to be honest. Despite the bay logo 17+ is pretty gorgeous, and tighter all round. Moving the moulds to the Vietnam factory seems to have been the right decision. Besides, the finish of the box matches the semi-gloss finish of the toy itself

I may just have to go for it then @Sam .. if you think then fixing it isn’t likely then there’s no point waiting forever.
If they do fix the box later I’ll just try and buy it off someone who doesn’t keep them. Can’t wait to see what they do with
Smokescreen.

@IwatchTV i never noticed but the logo has angry eyes, Sam referenced it somewhere on here before. Now that I’ve seen it, it’s hard to unsee. It’s best you stay in blissful ignorance on the matter haha

Is there any difference between the Hasbro and Takara packaging for this? I see a box with a MP 17+ on it instead of the normal photos of the prowl and him in his alt mode. I would like to purchase the takara one though, so it would be helpful if I knew the difference. Thanks!

 

The box with "MP-17+" emblazoned on it is just a slipcover that Hasbro Asia is putting over the normal Takara box. The product (including the inner box) is 100% the same, it's just Hasbro Asia obtaining copies from Takara and distributing them overseas. The one I received was supposed to be a "Hasbro version" but it didn't even come with the slipcover!

I just bought MP-17+ and it also arrived in the black wrapper box.
I am wondering what other people do with it:
Just keep the inner box, keep both boxes, throw both boxes away?

I received mp prowl+ yesterday... I was expecting it with a badly painted head and instead is one of the finest painted mp I have in my collection.
Awesome figure. I have also the original, which I am keeping... Great mold!

 

Sounds great! I still wish he had some Japanese police decals though.

 

I think you can find some decals to apply to him.
Even though I would apply them to the standard version and not to the +  

 

Well I just can’t find any of the right ones. I’m looking for ones like the Tokyo metropolitan police department. Think the details on cordon. I just wish someone could make a set like that for prowl. All the toy details but also some real world labels. And yeah it’d be better on the original but that’s hard to find and also be sure if it’s not a KO.

 

I had received a Prowl+ with a scratch on his face and some other issues like dirt under the paint on the hood etc. I emailed Ages 3 And Up about options and they ended up sending me a second figure in the mail without arms or a box etc. The thinking was that I would swap the arms over and have a nice new copy. I still think it was amazing that A3U bothered to do that because I’ve not had much luck getting replacement parts for Takara figures from any North American sites including A3U.

BUT the replacement figure has a better face, but worse helmet. The helmet has a few nicks in it and the neck pin was misfired at the factory and one side of his head is really messed up. The neck pin was also misfired in my original copy but the new one is worse.

The reason they sent me so much of a figure instead of just the head is because that figure is mostly pins and very difficult to take apart without damaging it. Can anyone point me in the right direction of a page or video showing how to disassemble this figure? I’d like to try and take them both apart and make one good copy from all the parts. Thanks!

Are you sure prowl+ is made in vietnam? Mine seems made in china.
