I just started collecting last year, so far I only have 3 g1 toys, 2 of them being reissues (Hot Rod & Outback). I'm going to have to go with my only original at the moment, Scoop. He's just so orange & clicky, he's absolutely perfect. Yeah I like the modern stuff, but there's just something magical about a hunk of plastic ratcheting & clicking into a differently shaped hunk of plastic, ha ha.
I have 4 g1s, started collecting about 3 years ago, but I only bought 1 the smallest, dead end, and the others I traded other t-formers for them. I have Powermaster Optimus Weird wolf Skull crusher Dead end
I don't know how fair this is too say, but its the truth for me... I hold all Gun bots very high up on a pedistal, they, alongside the Realgear like bots, IE.. Blaster, Soundwave, Perceptor, Reflector ect.. As well as Gestalts as a whole.. Are my TOP Bots..... My #1's...
Crosshairs. I hope we get a proper CHUG version someday. If a third party releases a masterpiece version I'd be all over it.
skylynx i have a few but this is the only toy that holds upto todays toys, it sets well with classics
I can't possibly pick a favorite. I love too many of them. But least favorite is easy. Megatron! Easily one of the worst transforming toys I ever owned.
^You sir are a man of refined tastes! You could have also said Thundercracker and gotten the same response.
Since I have a small g1 collection I would probably have to say that g1 topspin, twintwist, hotrod and brawn are my favorite, I would include punch counterpunch in that list...but he broke awhile back, sad
Scorponok. I got him for Christmas in 1987. He's here beside me as I type this. Honourable mentions: Prowl Ultra Magnus Quake Sideswipe Scourge Soundwave Galvatron Ironhide (with the third party clip on head) Grimlock Snarl Snapdragon Scattershot Cloudburst Squeezeplay Inferno Hoist Dirge Pointblank Optimus Prime (Device Label remolded head) Actionmaster Shockwave Kick Off
My three (four) legit original G1 toys are Pretender Waverider, Action Master Mainframe, and Micromasters Fireshot and Vanquish. Of those, my favorite is Mainframe. Who says Transformers need to transform? Adding in my reissues, which includes Hot Rod, Starscream, Tailgate, and Swerve, my favorite is Hot Rod.
So many contenders and favorites, but if I have to pick just one, the archetypal one has gotta be Soundwave (when paired with some cassettes). He just perfectly encapsulates the G1 experience, for me, and still holds up pretty well as a toy. Other favorites include Powerglide, Perceptor, Wheeljack, Thundercracker, Bombshell, Chromedome, Cosmos... so many more.
