To much use of Windblade for to long when she was for most of that a pretty unlikeable individual - and some of that attention could have gone elsewhere like to Chromia or Arcee.

    1. Making Hot Rod French in The Last Knight.
    2. Having Sam french a Decepticon in Revenge of the Fallen

Huh. I guess I just don't like French things in Transformers. :p

    I kid.

    I also disliked;

    1. Rodimus Prime changing from a good leader in the 1986 movie to a whiny do nothing in Season 3
    2. Optimus Primal changing from a good leader to a raving cultist.

That's all that comes to mind off the top of my head.

The dumbing down of the dino bots in season 3 also making ultra magnus a higher rank than optimus and sentinel in transformers animated should of had the same rank as the latter and lead by zeta prime or someone else entirely

I never saw them as being dumbed down, just more agreeable.

I'm sorry if this has been said before or if this is kind of obscure, but I kinda don't like IDW Star Saber's character all that much. I mean, I love the idea of a religious fanatic in Transformers, but why put the trait on Star Saber? I just know he's radically different than in the cartoon where he's more fun and calm and less . . . murder-y. Disturbingly murdery.

    Question....the topic question was...

CHANGES YOU'VE DISLIKED THROUGHOUT THE TRANSFORMERS FRANCHISE

How does the following on your list apply?
What change that you didn’t like to the G1 Marvel books are you talking abou

And how is that a change?

IDWs virtue signalling. Well see where that got their company at. barely surviving (just check their financial situation).

All the others I agree with you almost 99% I kinda warmed up to BW after the show connected of it being linked to G1 (just read the Legends manga and the rest of its JP related mythos.

Initially I wasn't crazy over the introduction of sparks, thus giving Transformers "souls". Over the years I've gotten used to it, but I've always preferred how in the old G1 comics it was implied that Transformers could survive anything as long as their brain modules were intact.

The personal transform commands. You know, like "Scattershot, transform" or "Cheetor, maximize". As good as Beast Wars was, it has handled it even a little worse than, say, the Unicron trilogy. At least in the latter you could tell it was just a Sailor Moon-esque stylized section that didn't really play out as slowly as it did, but I've always thought it was weird how in BW it took place in real time, with the characters taking forever to yell their commands in a needlessly long fashion (Terrorrsaurrrrruh.. TERRORIIIIIIIIIIIIIIZE!) before doing their otherwise fast transformation, giving their opponents ample time to shoot them down. It just seemed like they were giving themselves a handicap for no real reason. It got better as the show went on, but it really used to take me out of the battles of some of the earlier episodes.

That being said, Maximize\Terrorize was still cooler than "I am transformed".

Finally, I'm just as tired ot Beepboopbee as many of you. That being said, the cringy kiddy humor of Cyberverse Bee is similarly obnoxious, and I doubt many children find stuff like his "Talk! Talk!" routine particularly entertaining. I used to find stuff like that embarrassing even as a kindergartner, just because you're writing for kids doesn't mean you should talk down to them and write what is basically shaking a keychain in front of their faces. Condescension is not the way to a child's heart.

Honestly? I'm of two minds about Optimus having an actual mouth behind the mouthplate. I kinda liked it in the TFA show, as whenever he donned the faceplate, it signified to me that things were about to become serious, and that he wasn't messing around. On the other hand, I dislike how it was something seen in the movies first, before it happened in Animated. But I feel if it hadn't happened in the movies first, it would never have happened in the Animated show.

As part of my second thought, I dislike the changes in terms of size for the toys nowadays. Yes, the price of plastic has gone up, and nowadays Hasbro seems to be buckling down and giving us better (albeit smaller) figures in the Siege toyline. But I liked it when voyagers were heftier and bigger than the deluxes. I have a Classics Ramjet and Seige Voyager Optimus on my shelf, and the toy don't look that different in terms of height. It's kinda depressing.

Oh, and Bee's inability to speak, while initially interesting, the way Bay handled his speech impediment was anything but good. I do kinda wish in the reboot of the movie universe, Bee eventually regains his ability to speak coherently, but with the popularity of his current version as strong as it is, I doubt that's gonna happen.

Nah, it was canon in-story for years that Another Time & Place was destroyed and replaced by the Classicsverse. They tried to walk back from that toward the end though.

The "serious face" battlemask popped up in Cybertron before it did the movies, and general mouthplate-less Cybertron was from all the way back in the Beast Era, though Cybertron had the first PRIME to have it as an option.

The biggest change I dislike, and most of y'all are going to hate me for this, is the Evergreen-ing of the series. I get having the iconic designs, but I grew up with the tail end of the beasts and dived headfirst into the UT, where names and designs were radically different and very hard to predict. Armada to Energon, no one looked the same, other than heads and general shapes (Prime was a red truck, Hot Shot a yellow car), and then the next series, they were even further removed than before. You see it as inconsistent and bad, I see it as fresh and exciting, experimental. The movies, while maligned in terms of.. well.. Everything, I liked how visually distinct the aesthetic was, how you see movie prime and see nothing BUT Bay's Prime. Now it's all the same but only slightly different. Squint, and you have issues telling two iterations apart. There's no wonder about the new designs anymore. It's just "what filter are we slapping on the G1 guys now?"

Look at it this way, some people started reading Iron Man when he was in the Silver Centurian armor as well as Julia Carpenter as Spider Woman. To those people, THOSE are the iconic versions of the character. However, those are a select few, especially when a franchise/fiction predates the person in the first place. It happens.

Okay a couple of bones to pick.

    1) ln Prime... Why did he have to have that small, weird, awkward mouth? Just... Why?

    2) I just want more Rodimus. I love Optimus, and I love Hot Rod! But I wanna see G1 or even (please) IDW Rodimus take center stage. That would be amazing.

    3) Stop. Featuring. Bumblebee. In. Everything. It's gotten very old very fast. It would be great to see some new characters be present like the twins, Ironhide, Jazz, Prowl, Blurr, anyone! Just... No more Bumblebee please. Give us a break.

    4) Same with Windblade too. Don't make her into the Bumblebee for girls.

    5) Why is Optimus always so emotionless? I want someone who actually cares for his soldiers, not a stoic robot that'll just repeat "we must stop the Deceptions" 24 hours a day.

    6) Why does Wheeljack have a beard in Cyberverse.

    7) Though I really liked MTMTE, Lost Light left a bad taste in my mouth and really shouldn't be praised by all the fangirls. You have to recognize that it was really poorly written. And yeah, Roberts was rushed, but you still shouldn't praise it because your favorite ship became canon.

    8) Enough with the Aligned Continuity. Let's just move on. Please.

    9) What the hell is the Cyberverse Shockwave toy.

No, trust me, I get it. These sell, I'm not ignorant to that. Couldn't have 3 separate MP G1 Primes if it didn't sell. I just wish the evergreen stayed in the toy aisle while the shows gave us new takes and designs, like during UT and (to a lesser extent) Prime, with Generations/Classics keeping the G1 spirit alive and having these new, radically different designs and takes take up their own niche, see what else sticks while the safe stuff buffers sales.
