YET ANOTHER ORIGINAL CHARACTER!

She looks nice, but why not use a character who never gets used? This makes me wonder what issue 4 will be about. The series is whack so far, I hope issue 3 gets the series on track.

Thank God we have a new artist, no offense to the previous artist but his artwork was booty. It looked like a web comic by a guy who really liked MTMTE. Andrew Griffin\'s artwork may not be stylized, but I still like it.

you ever noticed every fembot got the same body? Where\'s my T H I C C fembots, I mean chubby! Do we have to rehash Chromia\'s long chin, my high school crush, design?

 

I mean if this isn’t a transformer the ancient female autobots aren’t as well I guess. If we’re gonna be fair. Although I don’t agree with that.

 

I'm 100% with you on the thicc fembots! We need to pave the way for the big gals!

 

I'm not crazy about whatever the silly out-of-place looking baubles on her staff are, but other than that and the colors not being very cool IMO, I like the design.

IDW artists puts out some really neat designs sometimes but I won't ever read anymore of their stuff. A lot of comics (among other forms of entertainment) want to push politics too much these days. No matter what side or angles they are coming from, I'm just tired of it. IDW is heavily guilty of that. I prefer entertainment stick to being entertaining for all, not divisive and/or preachy.

Given her appearance, I suspect no other character can fill in the role she may be given. MTMTE and RiD did this ALOT even if it wasn't someone specific. Mistress of Flame with her priestess like appearance was a leader of a cult that no one like Elita One or Arcee could fill. Oh and don't forget the Grand Architects goons with varying designs killed by the dozen because if ANYONE filled their roles people would have heart attacks. Velocity's cool, but also because aside from Energon Arcee I saw no female docs in the 35 years of this franchise. Plus her dynamic with Swerve is cute. This isn't new, even with The Movie with Hot Rod and Wheelie; both made to cater and carry the toyline when Optimus Prime and Bumblebee were not selling. I'm seeing another MoF, but that's okay because if what she looks to be what I think she is I'm glad it ain't Arcee because I don't see her sprouting angel turbine wings.

Except...we've been doing this for years. Nothings changed but the messages. It's ALWAYS political to not commit murder or don't discriminate. We have laws for that, but kids are impressionable in this day and age where Tide pod challenges exist.

Put all the message if need be.

I hate to sound like a broken record when it comes to this topic, but it's like every new female doesn't look like a Transformer. They're just a model female form with metal bits stuck on.

• Which is really annoying because "actual" Transformers don't look like that, Optimus Prime with his truck torso, Seekers with wings, cockpits, and thrusters, there's no clues to it being a Transformer at all in that design. Catapult has the same general slim model body-type, but at least she has a spoiler on her back, wheels on her knees and shoulders, among other kibble, and has a smaller alt mode of a baja dune buggy alt-mode to account for her slighter form.
  
• Which is annoying because the "Male" figures can be every kind of design, look no further then Animated: Optimus had the hero ideal, Bumblebee the large headed still growing small teen, Prowl, tall and lanky, Ratchet, older with a bit of a belly, Bulkhead, Large and in charge/obese. Especially over the decades, there have been many different types. Yet every new female looks the same, no clue as to their alt-mode (Unless they have a toy coming), nothing on the body to suggest an alt mode, and everything to suggest a "typical" model beauty female form. Strika, Slipstream, Arcee, and Scylla don't have the same body types, why does every new female comic character?
  
• Which is annoying as we've got several female characters who just aren't getting the limelight they should. Road Rage, a character I have no doubt that properly executed would be a fan favorite has her bio, two cameos in the Legends comic, and a minor role in a single issue of a Wings comic as her entire media presence in 17 years! How about bringing Minerva to the US? Roulette and Shadow Striker, sisters who are on opposite sides of the war?
  

 

If she does turn into an eagle, I hope the toy will be voyager sized.

Right yeah. It makes sense that she’s gonna have some specific role in the story so they make a new design that fits the characterisation and their role.

Why would you say that? Nobody else seems to be thinking it turns into anything. I’m curious.

 

I mean, alpha trion doesn't have any vehicle stuff on him, and even has a beard.... Yet he gets a pass. (almost like people care more about character than looks...)

 

Now to be fair Optimus' truck torso is intentionally designed to look like a muscular male torso with windscreen pecs and a truck-grill six pack so he's probably not the best example, although I suppose they at least did it using vehicle kibble.

I’m a fan of the design and new characters in general, as long as they get developed properly.

I will say this makes me miss this kind of art in the books. Not a fan of what we have currently.

 

But it's not literally two pecs and a six pack. It's just alluded to, using the parts of the truck which was not designed to be used as a transformer since trucks have existed well before that.

You have no idea how much this peeves me. I love Road Rage's design, and I would love to see her show up in something with her bi-polar alt mode glitch intact.

I hope we get a Siege Tracks just so our chances of getting her improve.

 

Even as a kid, I assumed that his "cape" made him a shellformer, much like G1 Scourge, so most of his alt-mode clues were on his back. Also, Alpha Trion (and the G1 Femmes) were designed for a kids cartoon that didn't think it would endure for a one-off filler appearances. Even at that, Floro Dery would come up with Transformations, even if it wasn't toy possible or even featured at the time.

This isn't an age where characters are made for one shot throwaways without any thought put into them.

But you're comparing that to a female robot with alt mode parts stuck onto her. I don't even know why you brought it up if you admit yourself the comparison is pointless.
