I think I am at the point I am considering selling my collection, I have G1 NA Euro Jap South American ect… including Prototypes, Now my collection is pretty big and it would take a while im sure to sell but is there any better options anyone could suggest other than Ebay? Ebay fees then Paypal fees ect… adds up especially on big ticket items, I guess the only advantage is the exposure that many more people will see the items and equal more potential interested buyers which could generate higher prices even with fees factored, Interested to hear peoples thoughts thanks!

There are several pretty active G1 FB groups for buying and selling. 'Transformers G1 Vintage Only, Collecting and Discussion' and 'G1 Transformers Buying, Selling, Trading' are two I'm part of that are run by really good people.

    Might be worth looking into.

I would be interested in what prototypes you have. IF you decide to sell shoot me a PM on what you got. Save you some ebay fees

For the non-specific hyper-rare stuff where it's almost always better to sell direct to specialist collectors outside of fee-soaked platforms, I think getting a table at a convention is a great way to shift huge amounts of toys - especially bread and butter G1 and modern lines. Shipping and auction times stop becoming an issue, then you just have to worry about the cost of attendance and transport.

For more high end but often seen stuff, try the Facebook groups first and simultaneously sales posts here, and adjust your forum signature to contain a link to your sales pages.

    All the best

It seems a lot easier to sell nowadays. I sold my complete US g1 transformers. But I sold them only thru eBay. Once you post several on eBay you will get offers from toy collectibles stores. The pain was going to post office daily. Now it is just mainly print and pickup. Plus you gave OfferUp and letgo. I sold my stuff for $25,000 but there was plenty of eBay and PayPal fees. Good luck

I sold off my entire G1 collection in broken up lots on eBay. I don't know if that is necessarily the "best way" to do it, but it worked out alright for me. The fees suck and I was a little torn about separating the collection, but it was way too big to try and sell/ship all together.

Stay away from the collectable stores. They will always try to rip you off. My buddy sold all of his G1's to one and he didn't know any better. They got about 20 TFs most complete including complete OP and Megs for 200.

If he was going to do that I would have given him more for the lot. He gave me all his Omega Supreme parts and a complete Soundwave for free and I bought his Jetfire plane for 50.

^Agreed, but if you have a bunch of stuff you want to basically get rid, of that isn't worth the time to sell individually, resellers are a great option.

I agree that getting a dealer table at a local con can be a great way to sell stuff quickly. I did that for two straight years and got rid of a lot of stuff I didn't want anymore (not TFs :D ).
Or post in Buy/Sell/Trade here. Personally, I think you can trust the people here much more than anyone on eBay.

BTW, if you happen to be selling a G1 Carnivac, Groundbreaker, or European Action Masters, PM me.
I may not be able to scrounge up the dough at the moment, but it doesn't hurt to ask :)
