Had a lot of fun with this guy today but was wondering if anyone could help me with 3 things.

    - Is there a way to slot saber all curled up as a chest into the v star to form star saber? Right now I'm just kinda pushing hard until it goes in and it's not a good feeling. Feel like I might break something, namely the wings on sabers back.
    - The disengage button at the back doesn't seem to work all that well. Even while pressing it, I need to pull pretty hard for saber to dislodge in both vehicle and robot mode
    - I can't seem to get both hands pegged to the side of the legs when transforming saber into his little jet mode. Either I have both legs tabbed to the front with 1 arm plugged into the legs or both arms plugged in and the legs unplugging from the chest. I know it doesn't make that much of a difference but it's seriously bugging me right now
    Thanks!

So I got this guy shortly after getting a KFC Simba. I had plans for a nice, full Victory Saber, with KFC's hands and joint upgrades.

Turns out mine's a KO, and he was the last bit of the entire set to arrive. He looks fantastic, however, I have some nitpicks that actually get under my skin...

The antennae are floppy. They hold wherever I put them, as long as I don't touch them. The die-cast cannons on the shoulders are at a very noticeable angle. Otherwise... he's fine. It was listed as a genuine figure, so I was pissed about that, but since I figured I might as well keep it, I contacted the seller, and we agreed on a partial refund.

Installation of the upgraded elbow joints was a breeze... though to be honest, I don't notice much of a difference. The knees and hips didn't feel like they needed it, until I tried to put Simba on his back. Holy cow did he bend over fast! After I installed the new knees and hips, I went to install the new hands annnnnnnnnnnd......... this is weird. The screws for the hands are too big to get the KFC ones in. Attaching Simba's parts seems more difficult than I was lead to believe, ESPECIALLY the feet. The clip on the top center of the backpack does not clip in at all. There's no room for it. I see a place where it's supposed to go, but there's no room. I'm going to go check out a video to see if I'm doing something wrong.

The KO is fine, but if you're going to add anything to it, it's disappointing.

90% sure mine is an official after some extensive research. The official is loosey goosey as well so you'd run into the same issues either way. If you want some decent and easy to apply fixes, look up swerves world star saber on YouTube. He speaks Cantonese but it shouldn't be too difficult to follow.

The disappointments keep coming. I finally reconciled the flaws that bothered me and decided I'd go ahead and transform it back and forth a few times. All kinds of little problems - parts not lining up, etc. The more I think about it, the more I think I got screwed. This KO is absolutely a KO. I'm just going to have to go looking for a replacement. I hope everyone else with a KO doesn't have my problems.

    Simba is AWESOME though.

Some might be. Mine was not. I noticed a few things that the legit one has that the KO isn't supposed to, so I wonder if I got an amalgamation... I have no idea. It came from China, the box wasn't in the best of shape, and the tape looked to have been opened, dirtied, then closed again. The more I think about it, the more I realize I should have returned it. Too late now. :(

I read through most of the thread and MP24 seems really solid overall. For those who own, do you think it’s worth the prices BBTS is currently selling for?

Love it. Thanks. I had been waiting for him to appear as part of WFC but I may just pick him up now.

Even if the character shows up in the Siege trilogy, the Masterpiece is still an amazingly fun figure and a worthy addition to any collection.

After I had him in hands, MP Star Saber went from "who the heck is this Gundam wannabe" to being one of my favourite figures. Only nitpicks are that some joints might not be strong enough and that legs articulations are a bit limited, but from the waist up he has everything and is a very fun figure to play with.

Be sure to also get the KFC upgraded joints kit (worth the extra expense).

What sticks out a lot about this toy is the parts separation. Key parts are molded in the colors they should be and separately from the main parts they attach to. This not only enhances the sense of depth but since some pieces are molded in color rather than relying on paint, paint scratching occurs less on this figure than on others that lack parts separation. You can tell Yuki designed this robust bastard to be played with.

If only his joint tolerances were as well thought-out.

He’s en route. How does the joints kit work? Is there any disassembly required?

That's from the 3rd Party Vehicle Voltron set that was released a few years back.

Yes, disassembly is required. New joint parts for his knees, elbows, hips, and shoulders are provided, and replace the ones already installed in him. They're just toleranced better to hold his weight (especially with Simba equipped), or in the case of his elbows, replace the weak original joints so he can hold his accessories without the arms sagging.

Personally, I only found it necessary to swap out the elbow and knee joints on mine. The original hips and shoulders do the trick just fine in my experience. Some people say the new hip joints are too tight.

Ah ok. That’s beyond my skill level. I’ll see what his joints are like.

    Edit: whoop!

    Edit 2:

Well what can I say? He’s a big boy and dwarfs almost every other figure I own. Elbows are super loose and I agree that is really weird - they went 99% of the way, built in all of these thoughtful and clever touches, and then didn’t bother to fix a fundamental issue. Weird.
