I'll probably be getting this. Wish the tank mode didn't look so much like a toy, but he will be in bot mode 99% so it doesn't matter to much. I ordered DX9's Astrotrain just recently. Oddly the Fans Toys reveal made me realize I don't want a G1 Astrotrain.

I'm really curious why would DX9 decided to re-issue this. Most of DX9's products were constantly on sale after released for a while, including this one. It's not that Gewalt was selling like hotcakes, re-issue it will just make the situation worse. Maybe this year's Black Friday we can buy it below $80 or even $70.

It's amazing how many different shapes and sizes tanks come in. Gerwalk's tank mode may seem unusual, but it is actually a fairly convincing real-world tank design I'm not wild over the DX9 tank look, but I'm fine with the way it is.

IIRC, Gerwalk was one of DX9's better sellers. I don't recall it ever being on sale, either on BBTS. Sold out long before KFC Ditka did, too. It's a good time to reissue it since FT has officially delayed the release of their Berserk, KFC's Ditka is pretty much dried up, and Takara has not officially made even a hint of there being an MP Blitzwing any time soon. Kind of a smart move for DX9 as they'll be the only game in town for the most part (excluding eBay). Carry was also one of their more popular designs, and they reissued that last year.

    Well, speaking of DX9 reissues:

Just for info, keep an eye out at your preferred retailer.

Yeah, Gewalt is on sale, I saw it at least once from BBTS (or TFSource) end of last year, close to 100, I almost want to buy it then.

And it was in deep discount in China about a few months ago, I saw quite a few posts on Chinese TF Forums people picked up him because of the price tag. (Almost the same time DX9's Hanzo was in deep discount too, I bought a MISB green one from ebay China seller for $65).

Right now it is OOS in most stores, but you can still find it on sale in robotoybase fro $99.
    DX9 D08 Gewalt

Once this is reissued, I would assume the stock will piled up again and need to be discounted and maybe further discounted.

I think Gewalt's tank mode is worse than these 2, if it's close, there won't be so much complain.

    Blitzwing (G1)/toys - Transformers Wiki
"Originally a Diaclone toy (the only Transformers Triple Changer who had a previous Diaclone release), Blitzwing can transform from robot mode to two different vehicle modes; a Soviet MiG-25 fighter jet or a Japanese Type-74 assault tank."

    Close enough, I guess.

I am not sure where the fear-in-commiting to this guy comes from. He is easily one of my favorite 3Ps. I recently completed my 3P G1 collection and I am so happy that my Decepticon muscle has this broot in the lineup. My deceptions would be way outgunned without him. 8 think his large scale works for him thematically as well. He is a carrier vessle after all.

He is sturdy. Nice face sculpt. Amazing robot form...need I say more?

Shouldn't be any different, just use a decent primer and you should be fine.

Can someone please remind me which figure comes with the replacement parts for Gewalt? I thought Chigurh's parts were with Gewalt, or was it the other way around?
I assume the reissue won't need them, but still.

Gewalt came with replacement hips for Chigurh, though only the first run of Chigurh needed them, if I remember correctly.

I think he comes with a special prying tool, maybe that's what you're thinking of?

Nope, must just be misremembering, but I knew about that too. Look forward to eventually adding that to my collection of spudgers. :D

Given that many still have doubts about Gewalt's tank mode, I reveal some of my findings that I made when I purchased this model a few years ago; in this regard, I re-used two old photos of my review of Gewalt: in photo 1, I highlight the difference between the G1 tank that is built on the old version of the Russian T-72 (lighter and less armored), and the Gewalt tank which instead is built on the most modern models (T-80, T-90), heavier because they have more armored parts (even on the sides of the tracks), note also the references of the wings folded behind the Gewalt tank, and the two front structures of the hull, in reference to the real Russian tanks! Instead in photo 2, an invention of mine... detaches the central section of the turret and fold the rear part upwards, which will be the support for the machine gun (the robot's rifle) it is only supported but is kept in balance even by turning the turret! I have several TF tanks in my collection, but nobody amuses me more than Gewalt tank... because this model can change in "different versions", for example, with the robot's head in front of the hull (G1 toy style), official mode with exposed headlights, moreover with the rifle on the turret and the sword to be positioned in various ways, it offers various possibilities for exposure!
