I am so buying the Seacons. I’m a sucker for awesome looking combiners.

I was looking forward to a modern Star Convoy. I'm very disappointed. Hopefully Super Megatron and Seacons will be better.

It's weird how LG has evolved from "more accurate decos" to "overpriced low effort retools". Big Powered is cool for people who really want him, but other than Snaptrap, I'm not really enthused. Also kinda crappy if they make all the Seacons Japanese exclusives.

I'm disappointed in Star Convoy.... it's so similar to the POTP Optimus Prime, a very lazy remold.
Well, I guess MMC's Star Convoy is my only option now.

And I don't even remember this is the Nth time CW Sliver Arrow mold is reused again?

For what it’s worth, Japan never got Action Masters when they came out in the West (ironically getting Return of Convoy in ‘91, from which Star Convoy is actually from, while ‘90 was Zone with Dai Atlas), & the Action Master Optimus Prime was actually first released over there with his New Year special reissue in 2002 (the same set that die cast Matrix was from which has popped up a few times over the years)

This is why the new Optimus Prime part of Star Convoy doesn’t have the exact same colour scheme as the regular Action Master Prime, it follows the Japanese repaint, with the only exception being toy-accurate yellow eyes for some reason (also, in Japanese fiction this repainted Action Master Prime is canonically meant to be his last body before his G2 form, for what it’s worth)

And here I was hoping that the dark days of zero torso articulation were behind us.

Someone made a potential Snaptrap diagram out of the Silverbolt/Hun-Gurr mold a year ago. So the only surprise is that Hasbro listened.

As for what's clearly a TR Galvatron mold, I really wished they have used it for a new Darkmount/Straxus mold since I don't know what a "Super Megatron" is.

Yes because they totally would have given this star convoy (that we’ve known about since wonderfest) waist articulation

I don’t know I think it’s been interesting. It seems like the unification has spurred them both to release more source material inspired stuff out of the gate on the main line. Without having to maintain a full LG line themselves, it seems to have freed Takara up to experiment with resurrecting Japan exclusive characters. I think the possibilities are great because who would have thought the seacons would ever reappear...Hasbro wouldn’t have done that ever. A Liokaiser re-effort may be a given too. So many shared season 3 and 4 characters too that Takara may take on now.

I don't think these are called Generations Selects for the heck of it. It seems very likely that these will be released by Hasbro as well.

Hopefully, because this Star Convoy at some high TTMall exclusive price is a hard no.

Literally everyone that saw initial pics of potp hun-grrr with his head (which was probably snaptraps) covered with a con symbol expected them to do the seacons. In fact there was evidence that red swoop, ricochet, the seacons and monstructor/dinoking were planned for some sort of release during power of the primes

Pretty sure both Super Ginrai and Godbomber were both $90 as well. If we’re not getting a US release, the price is fine.

I'd like to think Armada Prime is a mainline release and too expensive to produce just for one market(Japan). I'd be very surprised if it's an exclusive. Meanwhile I think leaders are a theme in Japan this year hence the new Star Convoy. This Star Convoy is a hell of a step up from TR Prime with the cancelled Star Convoy Titan Master/head.

However the cheap feeling(ack even Star Convoy has the grey thigh swirls!) leaves me wary....I like the sculpt but my POTP Prime doesn't feel the greatest. Nonetheless this has a good amount of retooling. Maybe the initial reviews will sway me over.

Now let’s see a Selects Energon Prime remolded from CW Prime (done properly and half the work is done) and include new drones.
