Yes, I know this is probably a dumb question to some of you, but I just gotta know. Is this line worth it. I grew up more in the bayverse but I dove deep into transformers' history since 1984 and personally, I prefer the g1 designs. But let's face it, we still love the bayverse figures. When the studio series came out I was excited but then I heard a lot of bad reviews with some figures (bumblebee). I got the first Ratchet as a giftbut when I opened it, the legs fell apart while transforming him, which was a big bummer. So now I'm not sure whether to buy the studio series or just stick with the main generations line (siege), which is prospering right now. So give me your thoughts please it would really help.

I've only picked up two so far, SS Rampage and SS Scrapmetal, but both have been excellent.

Some of them are pretty damn good, like Leader Blackout, Jetfire, and Bumblebee Optimus Prime.

But there are a fair amount of issues. Dropkick is ugly as sin. Stinger, Crowbar, and other repaints are uninspired.

Aesthetics aside, my VW Bumblebee has loose joints with parts falling off. It also can't properly turn into alt mode. The front fenders don't align. And this figure is $20. Probably should have been $10 with how bad the quality and small it is.

If you are into CHUG collecting they are ok for what you spend on them. I've bought 2 of them. Starscream amd BB Optimus. I'm more into MP scale figures, so they will more then likely be replaced by MPM variants when they come out. All I think they are is retooled, higher detailed movie voyager toys. At least that is what Starscream is. I have the DOTM version and they are almost the same.

Studio Series is an excellent line, all things considered. I'd say that it's on par with Siege in terms of quality.

I love Studio Series, and am so happy for the amount of great looking figures it's putting out, but a lot of them are kinda finicky. Lose joints (Bumblebee, Ratchet, Shatter), some transformations I just don't enjoy the feel of (Blackout, Ironhide)- yet they often feel like definitive, fantastic versions of these characters.

WFC Siege is probably the better quality line pound for pound- with more paint, and better hand feel, but Studio Series has a lot of heart, and I love it for it.

All in all its a great line. I'm in a similar situation too. I grew up on G1 but the movies got me back into Transformers so it has a special place in my heart.

Ones I really recommend would be SS-38 and SS-32 Optimus Prime, Jetfire, Blackout, Ironhide and Scrapmetal. Rampage is a must too for the promise of Devastator.

God yes. Not a fan of the price to size ratio with some of these dudes, but I haven't really picked up any objectively bad figures outside of maybe the Bumblebee mold. Just super tiny and not the most fun to transform, but that's not really the end of the world. Rampage and Scrapmetal are incredibly fun, Jetfire, both ROTF and DOTM Megatron, Grimlock, Blackout, Ironhide, and Sideswipe are fantastic, and we get versions of Prime that look accurate and aren't impossible to transform.

I’ve been underwhelmed with every purchase from the line so far.

Amazing robot and vehicle mode depictions of the movieverse characters. Super detailed, articulated and well painted. Downside is the transformations tend to be really fiddly, hard to fit together properly

Oh yes. If you do get a Bee, though, go for Clunker Bumblebee. It has all the positives of the SS-01 Bee without the issue of the roof falling off.

Out of what I have, Grimlock, Blackout, Starscream, Jazz, Brawl, Sideswipe, Barricade, and both Constructicons are amazing. ROTF Megatron and Bumblebee from Bumblebee are also pretty good, but Megs has a few panels that like to pop off and the Bumblebeetle is tricky to tab together in VW mode.

The only ones I'd say to avoid are SS-01 Bumblebee and SS-05 Optimus Prime. Bee is a great looking car and a handsome robot, but the roof assembly is notorious for popping off during transformation. Optimus is a solid robot and he comes with the swords, but the mold has since gotten a revised edition with less obtrusive back kibble, brighter colors, and a combination gimmick with Jetfire.

Out of ones I don't have, I hear Jetfire and Bumblebee Movie Optimus Prime are well loved. The whole Constructicon team won't be out, with half scheduled to be released next year, but going by the prototype image of Devastator, they look really, really good.

pretty much everything that's not a car is at least worth the money you pay. stinger is about the only car that's actually good though.

dotm megatron is apparently bad too, but i haven't handled him.

I like a lot of what's come out in SS but I wouldn't jump in on the whole line. It's best to cherry-pick the ones you like. There's a lot of variance in the quality of some SS figures. You have some like jetfire who are super solid, and then figures like bumblebee who fall apart just by looking at them wrong. Here's a list of figures I've found myself enjoying quite a bit:
    - Jetfire
    - BB OP
    - Blackout
    - Starscream
    - Ironhide
    - ROTF Megatron
    - Sideswipe
    - Jazz

And just an FYI, I've had similar issues with ratchet. Out of the 15 SS figures I have, he's definitely in the bottom 3 for me...

Not perfect, but it's really damn good. If you're a movie fan I really suggest checking out a figure or two.

I own Rampage, Scrapmetal, BB Optimus, and Cogman. All of them are pretty great, especially BB Op, which is probably one of the best Optimus Prime figures we've had in years. Cogman is just a simple repaint of the original figure, but it was always a solid mold and the paint job is fantastic. Pictures dont do it justice.

Rampage and Scrapmetal are both really good, but i really only bought then for Devastator.

I have and absolutely love Grimlock and Blackout. I also picked up Scrapmetal recently as I intend to build Devastator as well, he's pretty awesome. There's a few I've wanted to pick up but had to pass on solely due to budget issues. Some I was looking forward to look to have been kind of not good though.
