Interesting to see that Starscream has a visor. I couldn't tell if he did before, but it's nice to see it confirmed. I like the creative liberty taken with a lot of these designs. They kept the core G1 look but modernized with new and interesting takes, and not so far it ceases to look like the character. According to caption, they even tried to replicate the glowing yellow from G1 Cybertron. I love the attention of detail like that.

Cliff could be a retool of beetle Bee. Brawn could be a retool of Jeep Bee once they make that figure.

I've always viewed Ravage as a black panther, and as a fan of cats, he's always been my favorite cassette-bot. I've noticed that, lately, there's been a lot of Ravages that are a wee bit more wolfy, like the one in Titans Return, which does somewhat resemble a dog/wolf. I'd rather that they keep him more panther-like, but that's just me. The renders here do look pretty darn bad-ass, no mistake.

It's a shame they're both killed in the movie. Well, I mean, Cliffjumper absolutely is, but I seem to recall Brawn taking one to the face during the opening sequence...

The thing that's staggering about Cybertron, is that unlike a planet, it has multiple layers across it's entire surface.

Yet, it seems like external views always have a view of the sky (except episodes that explicitly go underground)

So we've seen Cybertron's uppermost levels, we've seen the core (Vector Sigma and other episodes) but we've never encountered one of Cybertron's miles high "edges" of that uppermost level, nor seen much of a secondary level where the sky is blotted out from the upper level, and we've never seen a miles tall building or a vertical superstructure.

    The mind, it boggles.

Lol I don’t agree at all with that shit show of a figure. But hey, it’s your ‘pinion man.
Yeah it’s interesting to see that visor. But it kinda works. And yeah the glow is super neat and classic Cybertron. But if they were trying to keep the core G1 why would they change the colouring on skywarp and thundercracker?

Skywarp still has the gray, purple, and black so I guess they found that sufficient. They actually removed a lot of the red on Thundercracker in the final film which gives him a closer G1 color scheme.

Not to mention a possible Dyson Sphere like running on the underside of the upper level.

Brawn did live. He just got shot in the shoulder.
Oh true that. It’d be neat to know what’s down there. And to think it’s already a huge planet for robots.
Right yeah I remember thundercracker looking so good in the film. It’s just with this art he looks different. I guess I just don’t get why skywarp’s sides are purple and the whole rest is grey. It’s just not enough like skywarp to me.

Soundwave looks so much better in that concept art than he did on-screen. There isn't really any difference in details at all, the proportions on the CG model were just completely fucked. I think that could've been fixed by just stretching some of the parts too...

Same for Shockwave, kind of. The art here gives him a sort of "core frame with haphazardly placed armor" look whereas the actual CG just makes him look a bit thicc.

Given all the canine comparisons, I think Ravage really should've had a shorter muzzle. If even the people who worked on the movie thought he looked like a dog, then maybe another revision should have happened.

All that said, I know the whole Cybertron scene was really tight on both time and money and it still turned out beautifully, so all that is easily forgiven. And wow, did not expect that conehead to be an homage to Armada Squidhead at all. The colors were off a bit in the actual model, but the intent is definitely clear in the concept art. Really happy about that in particular.

His final on-screen look had better proportions than the concept art. All of these concept arts don't seem to reflect the final models.

These look so amazing I can’t wait to see these guys in live action on earth. You kind of get the vibe ILM is proud of these designs as they should be.
