Completely unacceptable, if they're not confident they can sell Brawn on its own they should have thought of something else. I'm short enough on space that buying a figure I don't want to keep sounds like too much of a chore to bother.

Considering the inside baseball we got re: Supermax and production numbers when that was happening, I can't say I'm surprised they're doing these as a 2pack. Lets them split a production run in half given one's a retool of the other.

(Will be buying this, though. The molds looked pretty on-point at TFcon.)

I was just thinking that third party companies needed to put out more figures in the "impulse buy range" ($20-$60) and MMC once again does the opposite. I was coming around to Guzzle who might have been a buy on his own at $60, but a two pack at $120 is an easy pass. I foresee lots of Brawns on Ebay.

Gravus is loosely based on this:

    56440185_2171060609648460_4255587642806108160_n.jpg

People forget that it costs a lot to get a figure out to the public. Ebrius and Gravus were made to help with tooling costs. Bottom line is, it's up to the customer if they would like to purchase the set or not.

I get why they had to make Brawn but that doesn't mean they had to force him down our throats as a 2 pack. I feel like this is going to hurt them more than if they just did Guzzle and never made Brawn.

The question is whether people would be more likely to buy a Guzzle for $80 or both figures for $115. I personally would rather have both for $115 and I definitely wouldn't have bought Brawn on his own for $80.

I don't mind buying two, but with that shitty alt mode, why bother. And this is coming from someone who owns Animated Ratchet. Just because they kinda look similar doesn't mean one isn't done better than the other.

eh - i was in for Guzzle but not that Brawn.

I get having remolds and trying to maximize the initial investment on tooling costs etc etc - but now they might lose out altogether on some sales....there;s like 10 peeps already saying 'i'm out' in the last few pages of this thread and many more on the MMC FB, so that's x $60 for a solo Guzzle that MMC are down, but they've still spent money on making 2 figures

I've kinda been struggling with this issue in general now that Hasbro is making better figures. I think MMC and others have made some really cool CHUG molds, but a lot of the recent figures just don't seem that exciting to me anymore. I really want a cool looking and high end CHUG Brawn, Ratchet, Ironhide, Jetfire, etc but I'm not sure I want what's being made.

I am not into Hasbro stuff, but I've lost interest in MMC's stuff. I am glad Planet X is stepping in though.

Sadly, production cost is the reason that this is being sold as a two-pack. Guzzle is one of my favorites, but it was always the question if people were going to buy a figure that's $75 or up figure of a character whose only claim to fame is one mini-series (he has a different body in SOTW after all). Plus, well, he's not really a recogniseable G1 character, which (sadly) is still an all important element. So, pair him up with a core G1 guy to drive up the appeal, and price it so that it's still appealing but also offsets the tooling costs. That's how it was explained to me at the time. It sucks, but it's the cost of doing business.

I do wish we kept the theme of long range explosions and close up bruiser though. That was one of my favorite parts of the old design. Ah well.

I've been feeling similar lately. I had planned to make MMC the main focus of my collection, but they just aren't making the fan-favorite characters I thought they would (no Rewind, no Chromedome, no Ratchet, no Getaway, no Optimus, no Seekers, etc.) and when they do make these characters they're often compromised by trying to be too many things at once. See: Boreas, with the IDW design but the G1 deco for whatever reason, or this mold doubling as IDW Brawn...but not the IDW Brawn that goes with all the MTMTE figures that MMC has released in the past. It just leaves me scratching my head.

Siege isn't quite up to MMC's quality, but you're getting a lot more for your money and I would say that the best of Siege is pretty close in quality to MMC, aside from the plastic being thinner. They're 75% of the quality for 50% of the price, and I'd say that's a fair trade. I bought the Siege leaders shortly after I got Ater Beta and it took me a bit to wrap my head around the fact that I got two figures of the same size as him with more accessories (and ratchets!) for the same price as one fairly bare bones release. Don't get me wrong, Ater Beta's an amazing figure and I'm willing to pay more for quality...but if I don't have to, I won't. I am hoping we're just in a "dark period" for MMC and they have some of the more interesting characters on the release schedule's horizon.

I actually like to see Botcon Autotrooper & Botcon Ironfist out this mold. I suppose you can do Animated Ironhide & Ratchet too from the mold but maybe they'll be considered too small for the characters.

A perfect preceptor would be incredible. Although I’d hope if they make a kup it’s his lanky really old truck design. Cause that’s my favourite.

I would sooner have paid for a nemesis prime colored guzzle than that brawn. Shoehorning strikes again, and I am out.
