    Transformers TCG on Twitter

I know, I know it's April 1st but the fact that there's no information gives me hope...

    Mod Edit:

Get Transformers TCG Promos for Wave 3!

Get Transformers TCG Promos for Wave 3!

Transformers TCG Wave 3 is coming! Log into Wizards Event Reporter now* to get promotional materials from Wizards of the Coast, including versions of cards not available in booster packs, to help support it.

When we surveyed participating retailers on a similar recent promotion, the number one piece of feedback we heard was that demos helped drive sales, and promo cards would help drive them even further. We heard you, and we put together a fantastic set of promos for Wave 3.

Sign up in Wizards Event Reporter* now to get:

25 Copies of a Character Card Not Found in Booster Packs
15 Sets of 3 Character Cards (One Each from Waves 1, 2, and 3) with Special Gold Foiling
    2 Wave 3 Posters
All this is to help you run a casual Launch Party event when Wave 3 launches, plus support any Transformers TCG in-store play that you choose to host afterward. We can't wait for you to check out the cards, which you'll see after we ship them in late May.

You can order these materials in Wizards Event Reporter until April 22 while supplies last. Log in and sign up now!

*Transformers TCG Wave 3 promotional materials will be available to order while supplies last for retailers in regions in which the Transformers TCG is made available. Canadian WPN members, minus Quebec, will recieve the promo materials automatically. No sign up required. Please contact your local support team with any questions.

It's kind of fast isn't it? I guess June is still 2 months away, but I still feel like I haven't gotten my fill of Wave 2. Maybe I'm busier than the average TCG customer though.

All right, now it`s official, that WotC doesn`t want me to even start this game/buy the cards.
I could`ve looked past the SDCC-Promos for wave 1. In season 2 there was the Lootcrate-Exclusive, and China`s Bumblebee, and now in wave 3 there`s another Promo, which I can`t get, beecause, it`s "for retailers in regions in which the Transformers TCG is made available", therefore not here in germany.

Nothing can be done about the SDCC cards and there are plenty in the U.S. that have had to deal with the notion they will have to do without those cards due to how it was distributed (many in the U.S. don't have them either), but who said Wave 3 promos won't be available later or via a different venue in Europe? I mean look at how Omega and Chinese Bee was released over there compared to how it was released in the U.S? Don't be so glum

Why are promotional cards so offensive but convention exclusive figures are okay?

As of now, the game is only available in just a handfull of countries in Europe (among them are the UK, danmark and the netherlands), so it won`t make much of a difference. Okay, the shipping for buyiung from resellers might be a bit cheaper, than buying from an american seller, but it would not prevent high after-market-prices.

Let me rephrase this: "I could`ve looked past the SDCC-Promos for wave 1", since it was a pre-release-promo. I wouldn`t like to see more this.
If that would be the exception, the SDCC-set could be the holy grail to hunt for. But since WotC releases hard to get promos, and exclucives, it is just frustrating.
I mean, where`s a point, to start "collecting" these cards (granted, it is not called a CCG), if Wizards make it so hard to complete a full set?

All in all, I just wish, they would`ve released the new waves without additional promos/exclusives.

Because you don't compete in tournaments with figures. It would be one thing if it was a matter of alternate art. However, there are specific mechanical advantages to owning these cards. If the metagame proved there was a significant advantage to owning cards only obtain by attending one of the most exclusive and expensive conventions in the country that hurts the game.

If they want promos, fine, but they should be part of the tournament packs sent to local stores organizing tournaments.

Another unfortunate turn of events for players living in countries where the game is not available officially. We German fans are kinda pissed about this.

If the promos would only have been Character Cards with Alternate Artworks or with Special Gold Foiling... no problem.

From a collector standpoint there's no difference. From a player standpoint it is a problem. Those who travel to events and want them to be based on skill of building a deck and playing are at an automatic disadvantage, due to possibly having no access to exclusive cards. I've seen some games completely fail because the power or rarity of exclusive cards created a HUGE schism in competition. It really depends on how good the cards end up being and/or how rare/expensive, but it is concerning at this point.

So, even though it probably requires buying a bunch of boxes - can regular consumers order this stuff at all? I mean, hell, I'll just sell the excess, and I want booster boxes anyways...

Yeah I don't understand the outrage. I don't have Optimus BL but I'm not at a disadvantage. I still have plenty of options to make strong decks. I can even make decks to counter that one character if I wanted. And if I really wanted it I could always buy it online or just proxy it. Just have fun and don't waste energy getting upset about inconsequential things is my philosophy at least.

But what ever. I won't change be able to stem the righteous fury. I'll just be over here having fun and being happy.

Don't TCG tournaments often set rules against promos?

Most Card games don't. Magic is the most restrictive saying "X, Y, and Z waves are allowed"

Optimus BL, runs $30-45, while Slipstream runs $100+

I know Pokemon TCG has *some* rules, but the game itself has a tendency to phase out cards simply by introducing newer more overpowered stuff that makes them useless by comparison.

Aw, man. You mean I'm going to have to go and compete in a game night for a chance at these? heh
