I would expect so. What website pays return shipping for orders where there was nothing wrong with the item?

Amazon :D  but your point is well-founded. It was just disappointing.

Site is just a few weeks old (revamped). Lots of people were able to pre-order those $9.99 Deluxes. Also, the site is not just for TF Stuff - Hasbro Products.

Well, VIP tickets to that event sure sound like a promotion to me. Sure, I don't like it. But there it is.

What does the cost of the product have to do with free shipping being valuable? Those things cost the same everywhere. So if you don't think $50 a year is worth no longer having to hunt around for figures (and the time/money that go with it) then that's on you.

Except it's barely been a month.

    See. This guy gets it.

People keep saying this but unless you’re gaming the return reason I’ve yet to see this outside of clothing. And I’m a Prime member and that doesn’t count for anything in that regard.

This seems pretty standard. I would have been surprised if you WEREN’T on the hook for return shipping.

    This.
Any time I've returned something to Amazon that wasn't either not working/defective or a wrong size, I've been liable for shipping.

Exactly. It’s why I only buy from Amazon if I’m dead certain I won’t find a better price. I pretty much shop b&m as much as I can because of it.

And again, we're only about a month in.

The other thing that makes Premium a pretty solid value right now is they're keeping up to date on their product listings. Aside from a few more popular figures (focusing only on Transformers of course) most everything has maintained fairly stable availability. And they've been updating the backlog over time.

If they keep rolling out new products in time with their estimated release date (ex: Long Haul drops the same day as KSI Boss is estimated to arrive) then that makes it pretty worth while in my eyes. Since distribution in the US has been spotty in terms of who's finding what when and with what frequency.

HTS did *not* have this kind of reliability. At least not for TFs.

People forget that you have to have Amazon Prime membership to get those free shipping.

That's great...for people that want Seige deluxes (i.e. not me). That was also a thing before the Premium promotion and wasn't exclusive to being a Premium member, so...

Great? I'm sure it's good for someone. That's fine by me.

Thing is, those don't cost the same everywhere. Other retailers' prices are more liquid and change. I could buy those same figures from Amazon (often times cheaper) and get free shipping over $35. Or buy them at Walmart (also often times cheaper) and get free ship-to-store. Or at Target or Target.com with 5% off and free shipping with a Red Card. This is also disregarding holiday sales, where stuff is deeply discounted. And this is without paying $50 a year. If you've got so little patience that you can't wait to find it somewhere else, then pay away, my dude.

In regards to cost of the product, not everyone thinks these things are worth the asking price. That's why this thread exists: Official New Sales, Deals, and Coupons Thread

And you seem under the impression that I'm sitting at my computer waiting with bated breath for their next promotion? I don't really care. It was a passing comment that you felt the need to turn into an argument. I'm simply curious what kind of promotions they'll have. If the coming promotions are good, awesome. If not, I won't spend $50 for the service next year.

Well yeah, and just like any sale you're at the mercy of the item being available when the price drops.

Take PotP for example: There were deep clearances after the holidays, but not everyone waa lucky enough to find Primal for 50% off.

Again, you seem to respond to me as if I'm having a problem with Premium (or with Pulse). That's really not the case. Certainly, I'm assessing whether the $50 price will be worth it to renew when the time comes, but I'm happy with being given a free trial, and certainly don't take it for granted.

But most of this response really isn't about Premium, but about the Pulse website. These things apply to everyone, whether or not they get the Premium service.

Actually, this is a place where Pulse could easily turn out to be a BETTER value than Amazon.

Beside Amazon Prime's higher annual pricetag, you actually CAN get free shipping on a great number of items without it, provided you simply buy more than $35 worth of stuff at once.

But that's part of the value of premium. If it becomes a reliable source for figures (beyond just Transformers) then part of the value of your premium sub is reliable access to figures without having to waste time and money hunting at retail.

Why do you think Amazon Prime is such a money maker despite one of it's biggest perks being free shipping (not just at $35).

I certainly agree that, if Pulse is better than HTS was, I'm more likely to use it than I did HTS. And if I do use it more than I did HTS, then I may well indeed find it worth the money to get the Premium service.

    Time will tell.

What's the expected delay for pre-ordered items to ship after the expected ship date has passed? I ordered Studio Series 38 Optimus Prime on March 7th, and the projected date for pre-orders to be available to ship of April 1st. As of the time of this post. The fulfillment status is unfulfilled, and the amount has not been removed from my bank account.
