Since I am a glutton for punishment, I'm trying my first re-shell. This started out as a Monkeemobile and then inspiration hit, I rubbed another man's rhubarb, and this is what happened next... So here we go, proof of concept time: We start with a Generations 30th Springer and an AMT Batmobile 89. He kinda sorta almost fits. But does he really? Am I insane? Or just a Pisces. So obviously he's not a 1:1 fit. Then there's this: But, I'm getting ahead of myself... Lets see if we can actually dance with the devil by the pale moonlight... You Wanna Get Nuts? C’Mon, Let’s Get Nuts!! The back-legs are going to be a real problem due to the way they fold around. I have an idea on how to make the backpack work, but we're not there yet. If You Could See Inside, I’m Really Crying...
Very cool man, off to a great start with this!! Of course it's possible, but it won't be easy, there's always that catch.......but keep chippin' away at it & you'll find a way, too late to turn back now!
Quick Bot-Mokups. I know it looks like I'm cheating with the footwings, but I think I can make it work. Also the back-pack skirt thing.... I have an idea of basically using the hinge swivel from HA Sideswipe and pulling all that up onto his back. BUT Leaving it down kinda like a capey thing also has some appeal (and is easier and gives him some stability).
Ah! Now that's good work! The skulls... the bodies... you give it all such a glow! I don't know if it's art, but I like it!
Nice work! Funny thing is the Batmobile (this design) passed me on the road a few weeks ago during Gatornationals. Was a sight to behold. Probably a custom kit but was totally spot on
Oh wow... You're making me blush. Wikkid is one of my heroes. I even have a Wikkid Original (Mach 5 made from a Classics Mirage with working lights.)
Thank you for all the encouragement. Keep in mind this is most likely going to end in tears, and I feel bad for getting everyone's hopes up. Jomaster will be happy to know that so far my design retains the robo-wang. I've made two bits of progress this evening: Removing the windows from Springer's arms makes the Bat-roof fit much better, and doesn't really affect his robot mode. And then the trunk: Double hinge courtesy of SS Ratchet's leg flap. It's not the greatest solution but it works for me and I've officially built my first load bearing hinge! Yay me! I've got 4 different ways to do the back-end and unfortunately the one I like best is the most technically daunting. The easiest one of of course is to attach the Batwings to his spoiler nubs and call it a day. But that means we miss out on the sweet sweet loving that is the back wheel wells and vents. So I'm still searching.
