Perhaps the Trypticon issue is due to the toys R us closing?

I certainly understand that TRU had a significant number of Trypticons that still hadn't sold by the time they closed up. I'm not sure that, even if TRU hadn't gone under, it would have made the difference such that we wouldn't be seeing these extra Trypticons surface NOW. It's not like they were selling quickly at TRU, even at TRU-clearance (such as it was).

Ultimately, I'm convinced that Hasbro simply overproduced these, and seriously believe that they should re-think whether producing such giant, expensive (at first) toys as the Titan class represents makes good financial sense.

If we CAN depend on these things hitting clearance on a regular basis, Hasbro's doing something wrong.

One thing to note is that Predaking was NOT stocked by any big box retailer UNTIL Xmas 2018. When Predaking came out, I was surprised to see neither Walmart nor Target carrying him. That's not to be confused: Predaking did get sold on those sites... by HTS (Hasbro) themselves (as marketplace seller)!

As such, either Hasbro deliberately chose not to send stock out, or (more likely) the big box stores simply didn't want to carry the inventory outside of the holidays. That's gotta play into the numbers here. Plus, with LIMITED physical inventory in stores (was Predaking ever sighted?), I imagine it's hard to move a mass-market toy like this. Predaking was mail-order-only (HTS and e-tailers only): I expect his discount store sightings to be limited as well. Unless the opposite happens.

Has anyone found one in a Ross on the East coast? I have been searching the three int he Montgomery Area to no avail, and I am wondering if this is just a west coast thing.

They've also been spotted in the Midwest. Texas and Kansas, maybe others.

Found a Trypticon at Ross. Box absolutely beat to ****, but Tryppers is minty. El Paso, TX. Only one on the shelf at the store I went to, but there's at least a half dozen Ross stores in that town.

...yes, I call him "Tryppers" now, and he calls me "RARWHRARGGBL." It's our "thing." We're a fun couple.

Lot number starts with 8, and Tryppers has no build or joint issues that I can see.

They could've tried, you know, putting them on shelves. My TRUs hadn't carried any TFs for at least a year before they closed. I had to drive almost to Reading (almost 3 hours round trip) to see anything TF-related.

I don't get it. If the entire town packed up and moved tomorrow, the grocery chains would keep sending trucks until the building burst. TRU wouldn't restock entire brands if there was a single Zuvio, Speed Demon, or AOE Drift anywhere inside the store.

Here’s some other items I’ve seen at Ross recently...

(only picked up the hulk, despite his limited articulation... but the voice activation made me chuckle. Why he was $10 while cap was $13, I dunno.

Already picked up one of each of these when they were at 5below months ago, but I guess a dollar higher isn’t that bad.

For those into mega construx, they had this destiny set for $60.

    At the family dollar,
these & other TF potp figures were 50% off the big price tag, so $8.50 for deluxes & $3.00 for the power masters.

It's a bummer I don't have a Ross very close to me here in Cincy (AFAIK). I frequent one in a town in TN I visit routinely...found some good stuff there the past year or so. They rarely ever have a glut of anything...but there are occasionally a couple gems on the shelves. Are any of you still finding the larger Mega Construx TMNT sets anywhere? I often see the small sets (single figure...around 60 pcs.) at Ross but haven't seen the larger sets in a while. I'd dig a chance at the Party Wagon set...

You guys must have a lot nicer Ross stores than we do around here. Our Toy sections are usually just on the back wall and barren except for a few generic toys and shelfwarmers. They usually do not have any TFs at all.

I haven't seen anything good at a Ross in ages, but the local TJMaxx had $13 Overlords and a $30 Bumblebee garage not long ago. Now all they have is an Optimus fidget cube.

Incidentally, I went to an indoor flea market over the weekend and saw an Overlord there with a $20 price tag slapped on top of the TJMaxx $13 one.
    *sigh*

Eh, maybe it was $20. I wasn't paying close attention.
