Isn't he a smaller type dump truck in the movie? He seems about the same size as Rampage in vehicle mode to me.

Has anyone noticed, on the ship scene, that Scrapmetal really isn't in it??

When they first show the show the cons on the ship, Scrapmetal is there, but then they swap him out for Scrapper..or was it always meant to be Scrapper??
    I never noticed Jazz.
So I don't know about others, but to me the issue isn't just about the size, but also about the size AND the cost.

Yes, I do appreciate the more accurate look of the toy, but let's face it..that doesn't apply to every toy in this line, and it's not design for a lot of these, cause as I've stated before, a lot of these toys borrow most of the design from their previous version.

And again, it's not the economy, cause if it was, all they'd have to do, would be to charge more for the same amount of plastic we were getting before, instead of charging more AND giving us less.

Just look at it this way. Let's say your girl can't cook, but she tries, and you get these huge plates of food. But some time goes by and her cooking gets really good, but now she tells you, sorry WP, but now that my food is good, your getting less of it.

Would you really be ok with getting a smaller portion of food, just because she got better at cooking?? Unless of course you were dieting. And if don't like that analogy, then just apply the same thought process to something else.

I'm not trying to be petty, but saying that people like me, and others that prefer more for our buck, other than just "accuracy", are worshippers, or stuck on our old toys, is a little condescending.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, but what are some good flight stands for figures? Thinking of picking up stands to display SS starscream and dropkick in their altmodes, and maybe DOTM prime in his jetwing mode once I get him. Not sure what stands would be best for me though...

    Thank you!

The funny thing about people only complaining about him now is that Devastator’s actually completely wrong from the start. If Hasbro wanted to be 100% accurate they’d make Long Haul a (small) Leader then do Rampage and a yellow dump truck about the size of SS Long Haul for the left leg:
    upload_2019-3-29_23-19-48.jpeg
The fact that the left hand (a bulldozer) actually got a toy in Scrapmetal instead of being part of one big Voyager Hightower like the Supreme and Legends shows that Hasbro knows about the dump truck and could’ve done him a toy to complete Devastator. Too bad the poor guy missed his big break, I would’ve loved to know what Concept Art construction they’d base him (or even possibly her) on.

He’s definitely one of the few pre-SS figures to blend in SS just fine. All he needs is an upsize to Voyager, which I think would be great for ROTF fans even though I prefer DOTM.

Dorm? You’re going to college in Japan I assume?? That’s amazing! I was only there for 2 weeks on vacation and loved every second of it. Good luck!

Thanks! But to clarify my trip to Japan will just be for vacation. I’m only 10th grade and the school I’m going to is still in the country.

I think the reason they left out the yellow dumb truck was for stability. If they had Devastators leg be formed by two figures, it creates a weakpoint that could potentially ruin the whole combiner since his whole weight would be supported on said weakpoint.

I haven't bought a Movie figure since DOTM, and I had forgotten how much fun they are. It's amazing how Hasbro and Takara can take designs that should by all means be impossible to transform and then get them to work and make them work well. I'm definitely going to get more Studio Series stuff from now on!

*Insert leg day joke here* It's a shame that it's going to take so long to get a full Studio Series Devastator, but it will be well worth it! I also feel like they're going to have a yellow version of Rampage sometime in the future, but for now I'll stick with red.

I've been using these stands that I got from Amazon: Tamashii Nations Bandai Act.5 for Mechanics

The base arm is ratcheted. They hold Deluxes no problem even when using extensions. The base arm holds Voyagers no problem, however Voyagers will get wobbly if you use the included extensions. You can tighten the joints with a philips screwdriver to help, but Voyagers on extensions is pushing it. Leaders will be too big. I was able to hold SS Blackout with two bases, but for Jetwing Prime, I would look for something used to hold Gundams.

Yeah, that scene is full of inconsistencies. In the overhead shot, it has Scrapper, Long Haul, Mixmaster, and a red Rampage. But in the next shot, Long Haul looks smaller, Rampage is now yellow, and Scrapper is replaced with an unknown excavator thing with a pincer instead of a scoop (who also seems to share a robot mode with Scrapper, for some reason).

Man, I swear, these movies look so good at first sight, but after watching them time and time again, there are so many inconsistencies with with them.

I think the first movie is the one that's the most consistent.

Sorry but that analogy makes no sense. Hasbro is not my girl cooking for me. It's a company, which requires money to make products. And yes, the way the entire world works is usually things that are better are more expensive, and also over time everything gets more expensive. You just have to hope it gets better. Also, things being smaller is not always worse (yes yes insert dirty joke here).

If given the choice, I'd rather have something that's more accurate to the actual character it's supposed to be portraying (no other franchise is so forgiving about the toys not looking like the movie characters). And if you don't think it's a choice, then you're discounting the time and effort (and yes, money) it takes to design and create a good and accurate figure. As a designer myself I would find that disheartening.

Also, what do you mean it doesn't apply to every toy in this line? Every figure with the exception of maybe Optimus and Bee, is the most accurate and good-looking version of that character.
