How does Humble Bundle work? Is it it’s own site/service? is this only available on that? Do they have an app?

You can buy the bundle from their website.

As for how it works; you decided how much you want to pay (which determines which bundle you get).

Then, once the order is confirmed, you’ll be emailed a link, which takes you to the bundle you’ve purchased, and allows you to download the books in a PDF, EPUB or CBZ format.

Ideally, you should make an account, so that you can keep track of your purchases, and go back to it anytime, or keep the email.

So as someone who never got into the previous IDW continuity, this is pretty much worth it right? How much would I be missing out on? Is it missing any essentials? I would love to get into IDW, but I just never had the time or money and this does seem like a good deal.

EDIT: Ok, so I read some more thanks to Jalaguy’s link and pretty much I’ll be missing out on the Spotlights if I’m understanding it correctly. I’m guessing those aren’t essential pieces of the continuity and I can read what is available just fine? I’m still very new to the comics side of Transformers, so I want to fully understand what I could/do and if it’s actually something that’s worth the time investment (and the $15 which isn’t too bad if you ask me for that much content).

Anyone from Europe got it working? I get told that the deal is not available in my region at the current time (Norway).

That means it's probably not available in my region (Denmark) either. That sucks. :(  I wanted to lay down $31.

Does anyone know if it becomes available for other countries later?

Also, cheers to the guy that gave $70 and to the rest of the donators.

Hmm...I've not heard a Geo Restriction for the book bundles; this only applies for Nintendo and PlayStation bundles.

Maybe try buying the bundle with a VPN.

The early Spotlights are actually the one missing thing that I would call essential. They were standalone character spotlight stories, but they were also used to set up new plot points for the main series, and are kind of necessary to understand what's going on. If you get the bundle, I'd strongly recommend also grabbing those early Spotlights via the comiXology links in my list (or via any other digital comics store of your choice).

The rest of the missing stories further down the list are less important and can safely be skipped.

Yeah, it's too bad it's missing the Spotlights. In the grand scheme of things, we're getting a LOT of stuff for $15, so missing out on ~30 Spotlights (I haven't kept count) is a drop in the bucket. But yes, the early Spotlights contained essential information. I suppose you could read summaries of the Spotlights, but you'd be missing out on some really good classics. Off the top of my head, the Spotlights for Shockwave and Kup were among the best single-issue stories of the IDW continuity. And, Spotlights for Blurr, Hot Rod, and Wheelie (yes, Wheelie) are a lot of fun.

As a whole, however, I find that the Spotlights were usually of high quality, which is more than I can say of, say, the Mike Costa series or the Autocracy trilogy.

Comixology doesn't allow you to read external files. You'll need another app to read those files.
