Very cool. Didn’t realize who’s origin story it was, until the very beginning of the “One Year Later” bit — kid’s new outfit was a giveaway.

Speaking of fan films, a YouTuber known as Jamie Costa is currently crowdfunding for a fan film centering around Obi-Wan Kenobi that takes place not too long after the events of Revenge of the Sith that he is in the process of making. He is the one that made this particular SW fan film:

I got an email today, Premium Members of Hasbro Pulse have a shot at VIP passes to Star Wars Celebrate. It leaves actually getting to Chicago up to you but it's still a cool incentive.

That was pretty enjoyable. The actor playing Solo got a lot of Ford's ticks and mannerisms just right. Even his facial expressions (particularly the eyes and mouth) really do seem young Ford to me, more so than the guy they actually hired for the official Solo film.

I'm calling it a fake. C-3PO wearing Chewbacca's belt and using his crossbow gun?

Looks fake to me especially that alien, it’s the same alien picture that was “leaked” before. Plus the background lights look generic “Star Wars” as fuck.

    Yeah, it’s fake.

It certainly looks terrible enough to be a ST poster, though.

I've tried three seperate pages to check that "poster" but all of them have pulled the article. Either's its too fake, or fake but has enough sensitive content to warrant an "AhHa!" grade cease and desist note from the Mouse Lord of the Sith.

“If” the poster is legit, could C3p0 carrying Chewy’s stuff be because he bit the big one?!

I'm pretty sure it's real, I don't think a fan could have done all that in Photoshop. According to people on other forums, this isn't supposed to be '"the" theatrical poster, just a Walmart poster, or maybe a rough mock-up for the real poster. I'm guessing the later, considering stuff like that stock-looking lens flare.

While it doesn't really "wow" me, there are some interesting things in there. The Knights of Ren look pretty cool, I'd argue some of the cooler costume designs in this trilogy. I also think "Jannah" looks neat. I'm sure C-3PO with Chewbacca's blaster is going to be a fun sequence. I'm worried about that goofy-looking alien though, I'm really surprised they're not more careful about their creatures after all the ridicule stuff like Ewoks, Jar-Jar, and Dexter Jetster got. Not to mention the Porgs. You'd think they'd steer away from overly goofy/corny-looking aliens, but they really seem to be asking for it. Who knows, maybe this guy will be great (let's hope at least). I must say I'd also not feeling those red Stormtroopers. I think...I'm just tired of Stormtroopers at this point. Red Stormtroopers, silver Stormtroopers, Stormtroopers with black stripes on their helmets. It's starting to feel a bit gimmicky, and lacking in creativity.

This looks like the sort of thing that they use on action figure packaging and whatnot. It could be real but came from an employee at Hasbro or something.

I’m a little split on the ships in the background of the poster. On the one hand, Y-Wings and A-Wings are cool. On the other hand, JJ Abrams is really lazy with ship designs if he has any say on the concept art and production design. Also, the Y-Wings were a ship used in The Clone Wars. You’re telling me they’ve been using the same basic model of bombers for over 50 years? The only way to justify that is if the Resistance finds an old Rebel Alliance base and has to use all the old technology in a battle where they are hopelessly outgunned (even though that’s basically what the Battle of Crait was too).

I mean it is SW weren’t the Republic Troops in the Old Republic video games basically StormTroopers? Like 1,000 years before ANH. Apparently lightsaber tech also hasn’t evolved...

It's likely not fake. It's not the main theatrical poster though, just a Wal-Mart poster, or maybe a rough mock-up of one. It would be very difficult for a fan to Photoshop all this, with this much detail. It would be hard to recreate these characters in poses we've never seen, or create new designs like the KOR.

Phantom Menace turns 20 in a couple of months.

How excited were you when you heard that the Phantom Menace was coming out? Did you camp out in front of the theater? What did you think when you finished watching it in the theater?
