Oh yeah @Red Goblin your Autobot and Decepticon charts are in the wrong spot for Bumblebee. The Decepticon chart is under the Autobot Title and the Autobot chart is under the Decepticon Title. Might want to edit that.

I'm not part of the system. but okay thx

I don't want to alarm anyone but I made Bee 11'6'' based on the official number but in every clear shot from the movie they made him even smaller like 10' or even less. So if we take that ratio into consideration, Prime may have been even smaller.

I personally think the aesthetics should always come first, but I do agree that they could stand to take the vehicle proportions into consideration more often. At the same time, I actually like some cheating, I think it adds flavor. We know their metal can reconfigure itself, so I don't have a problem assuming it can collapse in on itself, to shorten parts and whatnot.

I would guess that the reason for this rather excessive cheating is because Optimus' robot mode being shown on Earth was an afterthought. On Cybertron, his scale doesn't really matter. Once they decided to show his robot mode on Earth, they had to put truck parts on the design they had created, and keep him at the same scale we'd already seen him at. It's kind of a no-win scenario. I'd guess they'll rework the size a bit in a future movie.

I'm curious, approximately how tall would he have to be to match the truck parts?

Between 25-28' just to match the windshield. For tires and shoulders, more than 30' which is not realistic.

Thanks! 25 feet doesn't look too bad. I wouldn't mind if they retcon it to that height in the next film.

That's funny how they were trying to be more realistic but it turns out that the old scale would have been closer to being accurate than the new scale.

They should make him 25 next time. I was about to accept the fact that they are tiny robots. But then the vehicle parts are way to small.

    Oh thank primus lol.

I say just keep the Bay size and adjust on screen when needed.

Also wouldn’t Bumblebee Camero be like 16’ the size of a Camero, I don’t know.

So the tires make Optimus bigger than 30 feet? How much bigger?

Again for consistency sake I say they just keep them Bay size, one of the things I really liked about the Bayverse was there sizes. Except Megatron and Starscream shrink them appropriately.

Man, Knight really did go for that G1 flavor. Can't believe he brought back Micromasters, and just in time for Siege!

There is no way Hasbro is going to officially stick with those small sizes, I can’t believe I am going to say this, but bring back the Bayhem sizes :) .

It is crazy how much better the Bumblebee designs look compared to the Bay designs though.

The new sizes will probably stick around, its easier to visually represent interactions between bots and humans if they're not too big.

That is a very good point. They probably just will never acknowledge the size discrepancies.

    Ha that's real funny.
Hey Red, considering we may not see more Bay inspired material for a while, would you consider adding protoforms to TF1-TF3 chart?  Thanks.

I honestly think they should really stop trying to be super accurate to the size of the robot and the size of the alt mode for "realism". You don't see other aliens or super beings in big action movies these days so why should Transformers be any different? If Travis Knight or even Bay can make scale for the characters work well then they did a good job. Unless there is some major fuckery with size like when they do actively mass shift like in the show and the old comics then that might be a problem. I can see Prime being 16-20 feet, just as long as the 'cons are still big and imposing in their own rights I'm not complaining.

Note: This is no way dissing anyone calling out on size discrepancies; I honestly like that you guys including @Red Goblin are able to find something from their appearances and put them up in a clean lineup.
