I already have the original without box and I was thinking about replacing it with this, but after the comparison video and the C8 box I don’t know what to do, also considering the premium price....

I missed out on the first AND second FT-10 releases. So I couldn’t pass up FT-10X! I know there’s a lot of debate whether FansToys deceived buyers about the metallic paint and all. There’s definitely a pearlescent tinge on the white paint. The red paint... It’s not really “metallic” per se... it’s more, also, of a “pearlescent” look to it.
So for me, I don’t feel that frustration because I missed out on the first batches. I’m just glad I got one and it was the highly anticipated “X” version!

 

I'm happy that those who missed out on the original were able to get this version, despite the mark up. My concern with this is the paint and how it would hold out over time. The original is white plastic (yellowing is my constant nightmare!) so will chipping or discoloration be something to worry about with the X version?

 

Yeah it’s definately more metallic or pearlescent overall but it isn’t like the prototype photos where it looks like it is really prominent and obvious.

I also find it weird they have matte blue eyes for the X and metallic eyes for the regular version.

 

I’m pretty underwhelmed by the x version. Prior to release I disputed the idea that original owners were going to flood the market with them when they received the x version and I stand by that. I intended to keep both but if I were to sell one it’d be the x version.

 

I have the dino x, all painted, with no issues with chipping, but I would take the chipping any day over the yellowing.

It's too bad I missed out on this and actually had no idea this was coming out before the pre-orders went live

Yep, if you don't feel like you got what you wanted, you should definitely sell it cause there are a whole lot of people still out there looking for one.

Sent an email to ft about my missing pieces last night and had a reply this morning saying they'd ship them out asap but it may take a few weeks. great costomer service.

 

Man, the dude in that video is trying way too hard to be cool - we get it, you smoke and drink beer. Yay.

Good comparison though - I like the newer version better overall but I think I prefer the eyes on the original. Not worth the upgrade though (even if the X version was still available anywhere).

I've gone on the whale watching tours even though I get major seasickness it's worth it. Those majestic creatures are breathtakingly beautiful. A real honor to be in their presence.

 

I would love to see that. I see dolphins down here in FL now and again. They're pretty heavy in the waters down here. If you're lucky, you can get them to wide in a boat wake. Cool to see them jump out of it. Have to hit just the right speed, though...but they seem to enjoy playing in the wake.
