I would like Galvatron to become an Autobot to unite with other Autobots against Unicron. Then he would kind of realize that being an Autobot is better. They would find their Cybertron unity once again and that would remain like that.

 

It would be cool if Armada Starscream did that due to his hatred towards Megatron and--

More seriously though, it would've been cool if Energon Starscream had flashbacks and remnants of his memories from Armada days coming back here and there and in the end, instead of just being unquestionably loyal (and admittedly very powerful) zombie, he would've started to question Megatron/Galvatron with his old feelings of hatred and disrespect to his methods raising their head. It would have given us some interesting encounters with him and Autobots too, given his short allegiance with them and general respect towards Optimus Prime. Then again, it's just a another addition to the long list of missed opportunities in Energon series, which really had very good and interesting basic setting to begin with.

 

I've always wanted to see Mirage get horribly wounded and captured by the Decepticons, with Shockwave reformatting him into Dragstrip against his will.

 

The entire UT is criminally wasted potential .

 

It'd be kinda fun if there was a season about Starscream and Thundercracker both defecting to the autobots. Them fleeing and trying to get found by the autobots would be a good first episode. Their differing motivations could play off each other a lot. There could be some interesting dynamics, especially if you play up the autobots' inferior air force as an incentive to accept them both in the first place.

It would be interesting to see Soundwave become an Autobot, since it’s never been done before. Soundwave could realize Megatron has changed since he founded the Decepticons and lost his ideals, so Soundwave would defect and become an Autobot.

 

His tapes could be in an awkward dilemma.

 

Soundwave and Shockwave as Autobots. And Zarak/Scorponok.

Maybe Flame as a Decepticon. Thing is even the most violent Autobots joined the good guys because they morally couldn’t stomach being a Decepticon. That’s what made Grimlock an Autobot in more than one continuity, whereas most of the Decepticon embraced their lust for violence and inflicting pain.

Orion Pax as part of a Decepticon movement until it gets out of hand would be interesting.

 

Soundwave; I mean, like a lot of the IDW Transformers, he technically did align with Optimus and the Autobots eventually, but it would be interesting to see Megatron's most trusted and loyal right-hand man have doubts during the war and switch, even for a little while.

Heck, I wouldn't even mind if he was working for Megatron the whole time, I feel like Soundwave interacting with the Autobots (without trying to kill them) would be really REALLY fun.

Yeah, this would actually be rather interesting. Optimus and Megatron are usually established as having been friends and political allies but we never actually see much of that. Usually just told to us as backstory or just when the schism between the two occurs. Seeing the two as friends and on the same page politically/philosophically would be a cool story.

 

For the autobots Sunstreaker. Anti-social has a superiority complex is very vain a highly talented warrior that generally looks down on others I think he'd be a great decepticon probably buttered up with promises of promotions and personal glory

As for the Decepticons I think Demolisher from armada/energon (more specifically energon) He was totally loyal to Megatron in Armada if a bit dumb and he only really allied with the autobots when Megatron was lost inside Unicron. Rather than simply having him rejoin Megatron and getting reformatted into a big dumb gorrilla like robot, it would've been far more interesting if he came to realise Megatron wasn't the same leader he used to think he was and no longer represented the ideals Demolisher thought he did.

 

There should be a Internal Affairs story where an Autobot and Decepticon go undercover on the other side and get their lives twisted up.

 

Autobot to Decepticon:
Sentinel Prime - For the ultimate blow to the Autobot cause.
Red Alert - For reasons that are unknown.

Decepticon to Autobot:
Frenzy - Made Soundwave feel betrayed by one of he's own.
Long Haul - He quit the Constructicons after years of being Devastator's lower area.

 

All the fembots switching teams. That stuff sells, especially in the geekdom.

 

I wanted to see Prime Breakdown become an Autobot. There were hints of him questioning his allegiance in several episodes... then he died... And then for some reason Dreadwing picked up right where he left off... and even more inexplicably Knock-Out ended up being the one who actually switches sides.

 

Blitzwing goes full-on Taking Over the Decepticons with Astrotrain, Megatron lets him off with a head bonking.

Blitzwing desperately tries to warn Galvatron that the Quintessons are using him and will kill us all - Galvatron ejects him from the Decepticons for being disloyal. Then he's kinda gone.

Seems like Octane takes his place as the Decepticon triple changer who has switched sides after that. But why did I never get to see Blitzwing really go over to the other side? I still want that.

 

Omg Yes! That was going to be my choice.

 

It'd be interesting to see a version of Starscream that starts off as an Autobot and ends up defecting to the Decepticons. Kinda like the reverse of Armada Starscream, now that I think about it.
