Hilarious. It’s really amazing. We can maybe give him the benefit of the doubt a bit due to the translation but I do think that this highlights one of the lingering issues with the franchise - assuming that he’s not as stupid as he sounds, he definitely thinks that audiences are stupid.

 

As someone who has given Lorenzo the benefit of the doubt in the past and has always wondered why just the mention of his name would practically trigger people, I have to say I’m surprised that Paramount and/or Hasbro haven’t told this man to stop doing interviews. He’s constantly contradicting himself and Hasbro.

But the Bumblebee movie is a new take. It's a prequel to the 2007 movie if there is going to be a BW movie.

It is also implied that the series will now take a similar approach to Warner Bros.’ DC Series; where the attention is given to each individual film while not focusing on a broader “Cinematic Universe”.

This is the type of shit that makes the general audiences stop caring about this franchise. The MCU works as well as it does because it always sets up for the future either through foreshadowing or teases in the after credits scenes. This leaves the audience excited for what comes next, how is this gonna tie together, etc. When you keep throwing curve balls to the audience every time, they can't keep up and just lose interest.

Just look at any of the Avengers films. Avengers 1 essentially had five prequels that culminated to one big one that ended off that phase of the movies. Every film thereafter had audiences excited to know what they were planning with Thanos and the Infinity Stones, which then lead to Infinity War generating over 2 billion.

I'm not saying I think the Transformers films can follow the same suit and style as Marvel. It's just pretty apparent, and unfortunate, that there is no interest in actually planning an overall story arc.
