A while ago... I ordered these guys...

Finally found some time for Inventa... but with all the Space-shuttles around, it was starting to look like a Smithsonian exhibit.

    IMG_20190323_133817~2.jpg

And... in Bot-Mode (well "loony-bird" mode)

    IMG_20190324_161528~2.jpg
    IMG_20190324_161720~2.jpg

...with my limited Season 3 cast.

"Ahh... Yes... Right there Perceptor!! Yes!! That's the stuff!!"

Eventually, I hope to find time to mess with Inventa a bit more... and then of course there's Magma.

But, my Season 3 figures are pretty limited in roster... and I am trying so hard to avoid the suction from the S3 rabbit hole.

Here’s a couple quick shots. I was curious how it would look myself. 367DB944-A6CD-479A-8BD9-8B958A71306E.jpeg FDCB91AA-1692-46A1-9C7F-DA6CDEFCEAF7.jpeg

So you just keep the wings in ‘shuttle’ mode with the blue things kept in, right - that’s the gist?

Yeah I extended the blue part out of the shuttle wings but kept the wing tips in.

A more premium finish on the white plus a non-floppy neck would give this ‘fig of the yr.’ potential, but as-is its pretty good ... definitely not likely that another 3P or TT puts out anything to compete, so I’ll just check the box and keep it movin’ ...

Got my replacement parts from MMC, surgery time.... Will be good to have Sky Lynx in bot mode again.

I'm going to sand the edges of the base neck brace slightly in hope they come together tighter and provide more friction to support the neck

    20190328_125238.jpg

EDIT: Finally got some time to fix this guy up and I'm estatic now. Have only fixed the neck and reused all the original parts save for the 1 replacent screw from the neck base brace that threaded. I sanded the inner sides of the neck brace to slightly narrow the pieces in hoping they come together tighter. I also coated the friction point with nail polish and screwed it all up.

Net result is a strong neck! It'll hold with the neck straight out and also with a downward bend at the head, supporting the weight. This is what Inventa should've been out of the box. Shout out to @griffith76 for the guide also.

I didn't put the red screw cover back in in case I'll need to strengthen things up in the future but a v happy camper. I'll also save all the spare parts in case I need them. Anyone sitting on the fence with improving the neck, I'd recommend it. Get parts from MMC first if you're unsure how it'll go. It improves this figure immensely.

I appreciate the guide, but honestly the neck on mine went from loose as can be to being able to hold any pose tightly with a little floor polish. I’m sure I’ll need to re-apply again at some point in the future, but for now I’m thrilled with the results of 30 seconds of effort.

Got my chicky in today after getting the kitty at tf con... I gotta say; I bought mine from toy dojo and my his neck seems fine at any angle, up OR down and his wings tab in in shuttle mode without popping out. My only tiny issue is that the shuttle bay doors don't really sit flush when closed. But if that's the exchange for a pretty much flawless figure, ill take it. 20190403_202638-1.jpg 20190403_202518-1.jpg 20190403_202313-1.jpg 20190403_202206-1.jpg 20190403_201756-1.jpg 20190403_201723-1.jpg 20190403_201540-1.jpg 20190403_194956-1.jpg 20190403_194857-1.jpg 20190403_194733-1.jpg 20190403_194655-1.jpg 20190403_194616-1.jpg 20190403_194519-1.jpg 20190403_175801-1.jpg 20190403_172917-1.jpg 20190403_172902-1.jpg 20190403_172833-1.jpg

Yeah.. given the tone of this thread, i thought this toy would be actively falling apart. Turns out, it’s pretty cool.

Is this set worth buying? It is not MP scaled, was thinking if I did buy this set, I would keep in shuttle mode and applied decals as some of you already have done.

In total agreeance... If that's a word... Lolz!
I love the heft when combined, down to the small details like the breastplate that transfers from the bird to the cat when combined. By far my fave MMC bot so far; and I gots a few...

Hes not "realistically" mp scaled; but that's what he is in my collection, and he doesn't look too bad with the mps. 20190403_214201.jpg 20190403_214149.jpg 20190403_214109.jpg this will now be his permanent home.
    For now.

Yeah; I gotta admit if he was that big I probably would be skipped him. Those four legs with wingspan plus tail takes up alot of real estate.
