disagree completely, the details are there, but its blocky and lifeless looking.
    compare this:
    0D29B744-B73A-4D80-B551-AC428F8D6933-e1542742354968.jpeg
    to the art:

somewhere in the transition from art to model kit something was lost, maybe its the nose shape, the curve of the cheek, sizing on the helmet, or something, but its really throwing me off.

maybe I'm just spoiled by MMC's headsculpt:

Definitely getting Megatron. Will use some credit I have on Chosen Prime to save some cash; the price jump is a bummer

As much as I appreciate the design, it should be illegal to not post actual out-of-the-box assembled photos! I'm no good at painting and want to see what I'll actually be getting. :lol

And here I thought MMC's sculpt was the lifeless one.

Upon close inspection, I think what throws things off a lot is how strongly defined the nose is. It changes the contours enough on his face noticeably enough to look "off". Milne defines the bridges of his noses quite strongly, but they just sort of fade into the face as they join up. MMC's more blended sculpt captures that look in more angles.

It's really not. It looks absolutely bang-on in person. But it's very lighting dependant. Due to the more subtle definition as mentioned above, strong lighting, as with studio photography and such, tends to wash it out. In more natural light, the shaping and expression of the face are far more apparent.

If I can someday afford the large Megatron figure by Flame Toys I'd buy this so I can have Autobot Megatron's head being crushed under his boot, where he belongs.

It's not a bad design for Megatron, and IIRC it still comes with a Decepticon option, but MTMTE / LL Megatron is just the absolute worst thing, and needs to be forgotten as it does a massive disservice to the character as a whole.

I don't agree with you in the slightest. I really like megatron's character development in the idw comics. It paved way for stories that couldn't be told if megatron remained a decepticon all the way till the end.

And while your opinion is no less valid than anyone else, nothing needs to be forgotten. That's what the new idw continuity is for. From the way things are looking, I sincerely doubt megatron will ever turn autobot in this "universe". So if you really do hate autobot megs that much, at least you have this continuity to look forward to.

I personally loved his character a lot more when he was on board the lost light than any other story w megatron in it. All hail megatron comes close but it doesn't have the same "character flair" that mtmte phase 2 possessed

Heh. You know, considering Autobot Megatron never transformed in the comics, this model kit is accurate to the source material.

This is the single release this year I am most excited for.  My Lost Light shelf needs this.

(OK, OK, Siege Rung & Spinister are good too)

You do know transformer toys will never in proper scale with another if they really where in scale never was problem deluxe, leader, and voyager class figures will be smaller than him they wouldn’t be size of his leg they be size of his toe
