Hey everyone. I just wanted to give a run down on my time at TFCon and hoped to start a chat on how everyone else’s time went.

I spent a good part of Friday and some of Saturday in the TCG play space. I ran in 3 box tournaments with my Blitzwing/Arcee/Thrust deck and only got past the first game one time. Metroplexii seemed to do quite well against most decks. Wave 2 has really ramped up the ability to get bold on Metroplex and the ability to get him flipped back and forth. I had one match up where I never got to pull off the Arcee Thrust trick since my opponent ult’ed Metro quickly enough to put Blitzwing into the ground post haste.

I got in a couple of round of 2 booster sealed as well. I don’t think it plays as well in Wave 2 as it did in Wave 1 due to the combiners and their related cards.

I also got to spend a bit of time helping new people learn the game and managed to watch 3 Blitzwings be opened by new players. I did my community best to explain rarities then and give them some sleeves to keep everything safe.

Additionally I got quite a bit of free play in along the way. Tuned a few decks and played some fun jank too.

Anyone else have experiences they’d like to share?

I would've loved to have been a part of something so cool. The joy of this game and bringing fans together is a great combo. This has been my first foray into a ccg and I'm overcoming a learning curve but having a great time doing it! My sons love it as well so we get some good family time in too.

I had a lot of fun! Played in 1 box tournament and lost to an Omega Supreme tank deck which was pretty fun. It was close, so I don't feel too bad. He ended up losing to the "Undefeated of Vegas", a player with a cars deck running Cliffjumper, Red Alert, Arcee, and Prowl. I didn't get to see her in action, but everyone who lost against her said it was brutal. I also got utterly bodied by Aaron, though I wanna add that I was running a very untested deck :lol

Played 2 booster sealed for the first time, one time Wave 1, and one time Wave 2. Had a blast both times. Enemy Combat Analysis is pretty great in Wave 2 limited, since it's so likely for both players to have 5-star characters.

I played a game with a gentleman on Sunday who taught me how to play the game. I really enjoyed the flow and the play of the game, so now I am hooked. At the end of that game, he gave me a Wave 1 Sludge. That was super awesome of him to do that.

I already ordered some sleeves and top loaders coming to protect the cards I received during the convention.

I really like the oversized character cards. It such a cool idea!

Most of my cards are from wave 2 so I'll have to hunt down some wave 1 cards. Hopefully that won't be too difficult.

Man, I need to start going to TFCons, it sounds like outside of PAX Unplugged it's been the most Transformers TCG action we've seen. Where is the next one, Chicago, Toronto?

I had my first chance to play the game proper this past weekend. Participated in a box tournament on Friday night and a free play game at the end of Sunday. I don't feel I did too bad even though I lost both my games but it was the first time I'd ever built a deck for this game. Definitely a lot of fun to play with other TF fans.

Nemesis Warbomb updated for wave 2 ran pretty well on Friday night's box tourneys. I was one of many to get beaten by a wave 2'd Metroplex, and in my case it took me enormously by surprise!! I thought I was on top, then 2 consecutive ults and a Force Field later, I was just taken down with his Metroplex standing on a precarious platform of 4 remaining HP.

2-booster sealed with wave 2 is definitely different - felt like the combo of enigmas and combiner-tribal rares made for a higher chance of dead cards in your 14, though I liked the interplay of characters a bit more. Wish I'd tried out some wave 1/wave 2 mixed 2-booster sealed.
