For half retail? Yeah, I'd say he's worth it. There is no denying that he might be the most "flawed" of the MPMs to date: the arm tabs are hard to get in and rarely stay and the chest needs a locking point (I think my wedged way may be what was intended...or at least close to it... but it should have been better). But for about the price of a leader? With die cast parts, a good level of articulation and a good LOOKING toy? Yeah, I'd say that's solid.
Like the issue with the hood not aligning or the design flaw with the arms being restricted by the chest pieces. Also QC but this would be from takara so it’s probably better
First part is alt mode i think? That is probalbly not the hood parts but the middle part with the gmc logo. The arms are movie accurate. Sure of limits some articulation but its accurate. QC i dont know because that depends on the user and mine is fine
I've had both TT and Hasbro. Only differences I could find where black screws used on the TT whilst the Hasbro used silver screws. The Hasbro also has a serial number printed on it in white. QC wise they seemed identical. The Hasbro seemed to have more scuff marks in the black plastic whilst the TT hood was stiffer so held up better when in robot mode. However the TT also had too much movement in the ratchet of it's right foot. I don't think there are any specific QC differences when it comes to Hasbro or TT and more to do with individual figures.
With me being a displayer rather than a player I think Ironhide is awesome. However I feel peoples frustrations who are much more hands on with the figures than me. My main gripe was the figure seemed quite scuffed up to me. Not sure if it's because shiny black shows up scuffs or if they were being a little too rough in the factory. In any case the beat up look suites Ironhide.
It's kinda like pointless bragging every time I was able to put this back into vehicle... (But I did. And I only wasted half a morning for it)
I'll have to play with him more tomorrow after work but his cannons and ab joints are INCREDIBLY loose.
Any of you see these in comic shops? Diamond has it solicited for May. Wondering if it's for a new run. Hopefully it has improvements.
Here in Canada this figure is shelf-warming as usual for the MPMs at Toys R Us. There are at least 12 at my local TRU. They finally sold the last of the MPM-3s recently on deep discount at $40 CAD. The last few Barricades are on clearance at around $70 CAD. There are quite a few MPM VW Bees as well at $20 off. I’m not sure if there’s just no demand for MPMs where I live, TRU ordered too many or the price is too high. Probably all three. Ironhide is $150 CAD. I’m interested in the figure but I’m waiting for clearance prices to get it because of the shoulder issues etc. I think the figure looks amazing in bot mode! It would be interesting for sure if there’s another run coming with better tolerances.
