I’m pretty sure the medical term for what he turns into is a “grabby tank”

Helex (big purple/dark blue one) turns into a mobile incinerator

Tesaurus, well, he turns into a tank... with grabby arms... with a giant spiral hole with blades in the middle of his chest(middle of tank) that said grabby arms can put his victims in to – well – torture/ kill/ mutilate them.

To be fair – they never transformed into their vehicle modes in the comics, at least not to my knowledge. The only one that turned into thier alt modes were tarn, kaon and vos (he turns into a rifle). At least that's what I remember. If they did, it was an unimportant panel when they were getting off their ship.

Pretty much a mobile recycling shredder. A mech scale garbage disposal if you will.

so... a treadmill that is ALSO a garbage disposal.

Man, that would solve the above poster's pooping problem. Walk & poop, walk & poop, Peace Through Tyranny.

    How do you figure that?

R&D time for each unique figure is approximately a year. So you're already factoring in a year's worth of wages for both the Hasbro and TakaraTomy teams.

I can't recall the exact sourcing, but again, it's been floated that the average tooling costs for deluxe figure production is (or was) about $1M. I feel the ballpark numbers were probably let slip when Aaron Archer used to drop by these boards under his "Orson" alias, back during the AEC era. And IIRC, there's been a few members here with some experience in manufacturing that have quoted at least tens of thousands of dollars for a single steel mold. A Deluxe figure usually has 3-4 separate molds, and I'd assume that HasTak probably produces multiple sets so that they can meet worldwide demands. So that all adds up quick. Also unknown if the ~$1M budget also factors in storage/archival costs for retired molds, and if R&D overhead also factored into that number. The context of that quote was very off-the-cuff and non-detailed.

Archer did mention how much the tooling cost for Metroplex back at TFcon a few years ago. Annoyingly, I can't remember the amount - but it definitely wasn't cheap.

Sad that it wasn't successful. Here is to hoping that we end up with an excellent one sometime down the road.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. What I do know is that I loathe April Fool's Day. None of these "pranks" or "jokes" are ever all that amusing, and some are downright stupid.

MMC at least always shows a new render about something that they are working on with a scheme that homages something else in a fun way... Or it could be turned into reality if people actually like the thing (it has happened before with Asterisk Tarn).

I mean, if anything it shows they have a sense of humor. It's them that should be the most pissy about the crowdfunding not reaching the goal after using up time and resources for it after all.
