I tried to find a slump buster purchase myself. Nothing I could muster the energy for.

Checked my mail and sure, also got the cancellation notification and the refund mail from PayPal.

Sad to see this not become reality, or any of the repaints. Not sure I would buy any of those, but Armada Megatron and BWneo Big Convoy sure would've been tempting.

Hope option C has a chance. I will admit that slightly smaller and with some (minor) simplifications wouldn't be an issue for me. It's a marvellous design, but seeing the transformation sequence did make me think some parts could be simplified without much issue. And adding a headmaster option (exchange connection for the head for example) would be very welcome to me. Just to have the option.

Ah well, I've been waiting for decades for a Fort Max to my liking. TW Infinitor came close but is too small. Warden....LOL, I sold within a month (and the only regret is that he increased in value later). This could've been it and hopefully, with some minor modifications, it still will be.

Yep, to fit in with the rest of my collection (Hasbro and Takara Generations, only Autobots) I wouldn't mind if he was a bit smaller and simplified.

I have no interest in Armada but that Megs is cool.

    So when's a prototype ready?

Since this isn't moving forward, then never?

Unless you're asking about when the smaller concept might be finished.

    Oh, lol.

I don't think that's really the solution here. The biggest factor in the production costs is the fact that the set of high quality steel molds, especially for something this intricate, will probably cost tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars. Cheap Asian labour doesn't cost anywhere near that much.

Assembly is approximately 30-35% for most "toy" products.
The packaging can be 20-50% depending on how fancy it gets.

So... I wonder where do we go our next IDW fix?

MMC, are we getting Chromedome or Ratchet next? Any juicy rumours?

I'm getting Newage not-Cosmos but that's just not going to scratch a Supermax-sized itch.

I'm pretty sure that's just the "per unit" costs, not factoring in the overhead.

I don't see how the reported $10 USD weekly factory wages, or whatever, could possibly ever add up to approach the ~$1M or so that Hasbro supposedly can spend on the development of a single deluxe figure. If you think instead that the unit cost of the figure is ~$1 for labour, ~$1 for materials, ~$2 for printed materials, then yeah, your numbers check out.

I frankly don't either. Hasbro/Tak-Tomy should be spending about a tenth of that to design and develop a deluxe.

Pet and Nickle will be out within the next few weeks.

Tesarus and Deathsaurus are right behind them along with Guzzle.

TFcon is in July. There will be things.

Are you saying Tesarus will be available to have in hand sooner than later? I don't see pre-orders for him.

Got my refund email too. Such a shame. Guess I'll pre-order Nickel instead.
Here's hoping we get another shot at Supermax in the future.
I wouldn't, but I'd say that if you want them, pre-order them ASAP.

...which is easier said than done for some of us...
Those are really cool! Thanks for sharing, and here's hoping something still comes of Supermax after all.
He's still accurate to IDW, just not so much to MTMTE. The Generations figure is much more different though - he's definitely more G1 Whirl than IDW. But my point is that even as a non-transforming figure, MTMTE Whirl would be very hard to do as a figure without any liberties taken, because he still has paper-thin limbs. It's a comedic design that doesn't really work in 3D, unfortunately.
It's automatic. Anyone who hasn't got their refund/email about the refund yet should be getting it soon enough.
The short version is a show of interest, both for MMC and their investors. You could leave the crowdfund open for three years and it might reach that amount then, but does that mean it was actually successful in the end? Not really.
I doubt it'll reduce the price enough and I doubt they'll do that, but...

Yes please? I'd absolutely love that. That would be one of the best model kits ever made!

Oh man, he's next on my list after Nickel. Their Vortex looks so good, even just as a standalone.
That's it for now. There's still hope.
Best tip for PGs is to buy two new pairs of side-cutters (or nippers or sprue-cutters or whatever you call them) just for that kit. It's always best to use one pair to cut pieces off the runners (close to the pieces but not too close), and another (preferably flat-backed) pair to cut the excess off. Still not perfect but, you know, it works.

No I'm saying he's further along than a lot of mmc things are as we knew was the case when we saw his test shot last year.

I'll be shocked if he's not at TFcon sporting paint finally so maybe we'll see him in august or september.

As someone who is halfway through the IDW run and not at the bulk of the DJD stuff yet, what does this guy transform into? A treadmill or a garbage disposal?
